what’s wrong
sound can used to play a more important
role in video gaming certainly when you
talk about the big triple-a titles if
anything it is key as a component adding
to the immersive experience hi I’m Joe
East ritzy and welcome to watchmojo.com
we’re visiting with the team behind the
sounds of Splinter Cell Conviction to
learn a little bit more about how the
video game industry produces authentic
voiceovers for their games tell us a
little bit about wave generation what
part of the production process do you
come in essentially we are video game
audio specialist we produce music we
produce sound design we record dialogue
we cast actors anything that touches on
the sound production for video gaming is
what we specialize in what’s the process
within any given project at one point
are you brought in what transpires what
takes place we want to take Ubisoft for
example with Splinter Cell Conviction in
this case we step in to complement you
know to fill in any any holes for
example didn’t they need a recording
studio because their Studios occupied
absolutely here we go boys recording or
particularly voice casting it’s it’s a
bit of thrown beast that finding the
right actor or actress for any given ROI
is a tough assignment for this
particular project I have to say it
actually went quite well I have a
message to those who send my way what
happens next is up to you we were
brought in to cast some Arabic speaking
roles Russian speaking roles so accents
and foreign languages which is something
that we do specialize in for the Russian
voices you know the dialogue was heavily
English but the actor needed to have a
an authentic Russian accent be able to
fire off some Russian dialogue I stuff
is nighttime but that and that’s always
a tricky thing you know do you go ahead
and use a dialogue coach and teach
someone a little bit of a language have
them fake the accent or you know are you
looking for that diamond in the rough
someone who has everything together is
actually Russian speaking individual
with acting experience in this case we
found just that Vitaly was was terrific
he came in he was able to deliver the
whole package and it just had something
special
thank you
the sound design the ambience the voice
recording the music just like a film you
know it needs to contribute it needs to
make things believable it needs to set
the tone and set the mood
