Romantic Picnic Food Ideas

eating a picnic under the blue sky with
a loved one can be a very romantic
experience but you need the right food
hi I’m Rebecca Brighton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’ll be showing
you three perfect recipes for your
romantic picnic for our first recipe
will be making prosciutto and melon
balls to use the whole cantaloupe here
the ingredients will need a quarter cup
of lime juice about 36 sprigs of fresh
mint 9 ounces of thinly sliced
prosciutto and 1 cantaloupe our first
step is to prepare the melon so what we
have to do is slice it in half and then
use our melon baller to remove the flesh
place your melon balls in a bowl
sprinkle with lime juice and then stir
gently to coat wrap each ball with a
slice of prosciutto and then secure with
a sprig of mint
for a luscious strawberry blossoms
here’s what you’ll need three ounces of
softened cream cheese we’re using
strawberry flavored 12 large fresh
strawberries 1 tablespoon of sour cream
2 tablespoons of confectioners sugar and
some fresh mint leaves first we need to
remove the stems from our strawberries
to form a flat base slice the
strawberries in half to within a quarter
inch of the base and then slice again in
half to form a blossom combine the cream
cheese sour cream and icing sugar in a
small bowl and beat until light and
fluffy
with a piping bag or a small spoon fill
the strawberries with the cream-cheese
mixture
and so for our last recipe will be
making pear and Brie hand pies for that
you’ll need one large ripe pear prepared
puff pastry brie cheese and four
teaspoons of raspberry preserves lightly
butter a baking sheet and preheat the
oven to 400 degrees next we work with
the puff pastry I’m using store-bought
but you could make your own so roll it
until it’s about a quarter of an inch
thick cut your dough into eight squares
and then place half a teaspoon of
raspberry preserve on one corner of each
of the squares leaving enough space to
fold the rest over place a slice of brie
so it covers the raspberry preserves
don’t be afraid to cut thick slices
prepare the pear peel it cored and slice
it and then place the thin slices on top
of the brief now fold the empty half
over to form a turnover and glue the
edges with some egg
glaze the tops of the turnovers with the
leftover egg and poke some air vents
into the tops as well bake for 10
minutes at 400 degrees and then reduce
the heat to 375 and bake for an
additional 20 minutes with 10 minutes
left to ensure even browning rotate the
pen to keep your hand pies warm make
sure to keep them in an insulated dish
and when you’re going on your picnic
make sure to bring a baguette some
cheese
pate and of course wine to complete this
perfect meal
