Nia Technique Workout

the joy of movement is the secret to
fitness hi i’m veronica watchmojo.com
and today we’re taking a look at a
workout that is inspired by your body so
what exactly is the NIA workout it’s a
combination of martial arts dance and
also other approaches like Feldenkrais
yoga and Alexander Technique so it’s a
kind of fusion of the basics of these
techniques or methods how’s the NIA
workout inspired by your body the
creators of this technique Debbie and
Carlos arosa
created a kind of workout inspired on
natural time that means that people are
invited to move at their own speed or at
their own rhythm we often work with a
kind of movement of reference so let’s
say we have something going on with the
feet but the upper body is free so you
can create your own movements it’s not
about exploration which is something
everybody can do there’s room for all
kind of body or if you have a story that
say injuries it’s always possible to
tweak movements and make them work for
you the NIA philosophy is no pain all
game but how can one expect to see
results we think that if you have fun
you have pleasure moving you will keep
going with your exercising and second I
think the body is intelligent so you can
trust your limits and you can evolve
with them instead of fighting or
struggling with them so it’s a more a
soft way to exercise and workout and you
have results and new ways what can
people expect from their first Nia class
they can at least expect having fun so I
always invite people to do at least one
class just to be sure that it’s what
they are expecting and
most of the time if it’s not all the
time they come back just because they
had fun doing it there’s no pressure and
it’s not about performance so we try to
bring people to move for themselves
first I think it’s the reason why we can
mix many kind of profiles and different
ages in the same class everybody can
feel comfortable because it’s not about
performance it brings us somewhere else
well thank you very much you’re welcome
