mean that it will remain the same and
this year the mini was redesigned we
caught up with Stephen McDonald director
of many to talk to them about the change
so Tulsans Stephen why the redesign well
it’s not so much that we redesigned the
car and actual fact one of the things
that are owners told us that they’re
like most about the car was the design
of it if you look at the car the most
notable thing first of all is that the
front end of the car has raised in
height and that really is to accommodate
the changes in a report the new
pedestrian safety standards the back of
the car has also been redesigned at an
actual fact everything from the roof
downwards is brand new on this car even
though from first appearance it looks
very similar to the previous generation
mini the biggest changes really come
under the hood because what we’ve done
is we put in place a brand new set of
engines in both the Cooper and the
cooper s under the Cooper it’s no an
all-aluminum construction it’s a
demob engine that delivers approximately
twenty percent better fuel consumption
in the old vehicle the cooper has we
have a new feature called a twin-scroll
turbocharger what the twins Bowl
turbocharger does is that it virtually
eliminates that very traditional turbo
lag what it means therefore is that you
get ninety percent of the torque from
about 1600 our p.m. onwards so this car
really performs at a low rpm the mini is
grown by about three inches in length
most of that that length has been added
within the rear seat allowing rear seat
occupants to have a little bit more
legroom is a little bit of additional
trunk space not only in length but also
in depth so you can store more things in
your mini the next biggest changes in
the interior of the car it’s all new
it’s more premium it has higher grade
plastics and materials it has additional
features and of course it still looks
like the mini looks with a central
binnacle showing the speedometer and the
rev counter right in front of you and in
the current car you can have navigation
combined with a speedometer in the same
dial the other changes obviously are
much more subtle and that’s where the
true mini aficionado probably will have
to compare their existing car to the new
car to really see those
