Nobel Peace Prize in 1950 he was
recognized for his work in the Middle
East as acting mediator for the UN
Palestine commission from nineteen forty
eight to nineteen forty nine forth on my
list is curtis john pride the first
hearing impaired african-american
in the National Baseball League he is
also the first hearing impaired
african-american to played in the World
Series with the Atlanta Braves Curtis
pride has won several awards for his
achievements including the alexander
graham bell award for outstanding
lifetime achievement and the annual tony
conigliaro award presented to a major
league player who has overcome adversity
through the attributes of spirit
determination and courage
