Auto Race Star Alex Tagliani Talks Driving

hi I’m Miranda life stone with
watchmojo.com and today we’re talking to
IndyCar driver alex tagliani about his
career and what he’s up to now so how
did you get into racing my parents are
from Italy so was a you know trip that I
was supposed to go there for the summer
three months learn the language I was
ten years old and my grandfather stick
Nina in a go-kart found out that I was
pretty good at it and then after the
trip my parents had no choice to bring
me during weekends race go-karts instead
of playing you know soccer or hockey
because that’s what I really loved what
do you like most about being on the
racetrack I guess I love driving I love
being at the shop with my dad and you
know kind of like wrenching and working
on my go kart and you know the
technology and being the middleman
between the engineer and the Machine the
interaction between a team and and the
car and yourself to continuously
improving its it’s that sort of
challenge that really drives me and that
i really like when i’m at the racetrack
what’s the favorite track that you’ve
driven on so far and champ in the in
stock I mean Toronto is a great Street
course montreal i love the track as well
as a driver at thank you you have good
memories of track and you like certain
tracks also the ones that you were
competitive on and good success on for
good memories so it’s kind of a
combination of everything and no strike
that i mentioned i either finish on the
podium was on the pole so you know like
i don’t think there’s a track that i
really like that i never been
competitive on and what’s the fastest
you’ve ever gone on the track in my
early years in champ car we had some top
speeds of 255 miles an hour so it was
pretty quick on a super speedway very
unique experience having the chance to
drive on speedway so you know super
speedways short ovals street circuit
road course just like the mix of tracks
that we had the chance to race during my
IndyCar days
it’s quite quite an amazing experience
and that’s why I think the indycar
series very complete what’s your daily
driver at home I have a acura TL my wife
drives a mdx quite practical when you
need a load stuff grocery bicycles
things like that so I’ve became you know
in love with the product because I drive
it and I had the chance to to have it
from being an on the driver if you could
create any law on the road today what
would it be the structure and the way
people approach the entrance and the
exits on ramps off ramps there’s some
sort of misunderstanding between drivers
and it creates traffic when you slow
down for any reason if you have very few
cars it doesn’t create anything no
effect as soon as the volumes of car
becomes more this slowing down creates
like an accordion effect I think
teaching the people how to merge to
create less accordion effect will reduce
traffic without having to change y’all
ways that we have thank you very much as
speaking at us Alex today my pleasure
thank you
