Arcadia Festival – Xbox 360: HDDVD part 2

so what I’m going to show you now is one
of those features that you can only find
an HD DVD or even blu-ray but in this
case specifically HD DVD technology now
typically in a DVD the menu and the
movie are very separated now they’re
integrated let me give you an example
what I’m going to do here is I’m going
to overlay the DVD menu musi it overlays
with a transparency right over the movie
itself what I’m going to do is I’m going
to show you something that I find
actually pretty incredible and that’s a
creative car feature here now you see I
have my choices custom-made drifter I’ll
go to that it allows you to actually
create a car and put it in your own
scene so what I’m going to do here is
I’m going to paint the car like they’re
asking me to I’m a big fan of the color
blue and let me choose the type of
wheels i’m going to use here what I’ll
do here is I will take this car that I
created and put it right into a see see
see here they’ve they’ve rendered the
car near that to my liking and we see a
sort of short clip here
Tokyo Drift style of course of the
corner I actually created just now so
cool sort of features and add-ons like
that are things you don’t see a current
generation DVDs and that’s primarily
because they don’t have the space or
just the raw means to sort of get
delivered this type of personalized
content now this may seem a little
gimmicky but it’s what makes us really
interesting it’s the implications it has
for the future maybe even giving you the
ability to sort of customize a character
or something and import them into a seam
in an actual movie so that’s just a
small example of some of the power of HD
DVD technology and a little taste of
what Microsoft we bringing us for this
holiday season
