Robbi shoddy Saturday recently MD while
dr. lemon is any of Tavakoli America
would never be destroyed from the
outside if we falter and lose our
freedom or because we destroyed
ourselves this is a copay Abraham
Lincoln we in the u.s. usually have the
perception that we are the most powerful
country in the world ladies and
gentlemen this is a misperception this
statement isn’t in terms of our security
and government bits and art but it’s our
unity we live in a country or some put
one another down to the call of the skin
we live in a country or some like to
keep their cultures for themselves the
idea of thinking you are better than
someone else
free to race or religion is saddening
let me give you an example Muslims in
some areas live in scrutiny due to
unfound stereotypes that lead to dirty
looks or hatred why do we allow
ourselves to live in a country where
when a Muslim woman goes through the
airport she feels that she should take
off her headscarf I forced a witness
this event I would tell my family goes
to the airport I asked my aunt the H in
T much laughs at her job
why aren’t you wearing the hijab and I
get the answer up Keith we do have a
daddy
we do Nevada bah how am I gonna go back
home without trouble a piece of clothing
so important to us some woman becomes
questionable from ages 9 to 14 I did an
Islamic school where I was able to
practice my religion express my religion
I they made a drastic transition to a
new school worse that was almost foreign
in my previous school we were sighted
could on every morning had multiple
Islamic classes and we also had a midday
prayer slaughtered the hood in my new
school these activities were in part
weren’t an important part of the school
day I wasn’t fast to talk about where I
was from and what religion I practice
and when I was asked I was quick to
change the subject
I wasn’t expressive about myself and for
the first time I had
to say this is until I heard incorrect
assumptions and I thought as if it was
my place to give people a new
perspective more adequate information on
us now I exemplified how similar we
actually are and that someone’s religion
shouldn’t give you a different point of
view when I explained to my new
classmates – Tomic beliefs they lit up
and explained how Christianity and
Judaism weren’t much different I became
the new perspective of Islam and they
became my new perspective of
Christianity and Judaism when we gain
more knowledge and educate ourselves on
different races and religion it makes us
stronger
it helps us to understand each other and
through the understanding it will unite
us are you ready to be a new perspective
for another student would you be willing
to talk about your backgrounds and your
experiences in order to dispel false
assumptions are you ready to hear about
backgrounds of others in order to change
your own stereotypes we should always be
working on developing a fuller
perspective that we are all created
equal no matter our race or religion no
one should ever feel oppressed let us
feel free again with equality not only
should we believe that we are the
strongest country in the world but let
us be the strongest country in the world
thank you [Applause]
