[Applause]
now we are going to teach you a little
video
already
to
[Applause]
if the young person does not limit you to do great
things the first time he went to the jungle
I was only one year old, my dad always
they took to the jungle because I worked
with the Secoya redwoods
they are an ethnic minority of just 500
people from Ecuador and a thousand people in
Peru
the town that I always visited was
mañoco calls whenever I was here
I liked to spend with my friends things
with them I swam I played past I spent almost
all the time with them
for reasons of life stop going to the
jungle for a while I remember that I am
it hurt a lot because whenever I went to
the jungle was very good and I always
connected with nature after
nine years I had the opportunity to return
to go
then after 13 hours of canoeing me
I went down and searched my friends and things
but they were not there
they told me that all of them had
gone to the city some to look for work
another day they were married and some already
they had children 15 years old and I could not
understand how 15 year old children I have come
just from the city without their dads
I understood why they were not studying
when drinking quito you can not take this away from me
of the head I could not understand how
children of my age were not studying
with these nine years I was going to
the school learning new things
while they were migrating to the
city looking for opportunities
then I spoke with a friend
with her we decided to do something we know
that it was not right for children to stay
without an education
we knew and children of my age
they had lost everything and they were with
family
but those of other generations do not
so we decided to do something to
change the future of these children but
Since we did not have money, we did not know
where to start
so we looked for help we knew that
we wanted to make a school
The first thing I did was talk to my
I tell you a little about my teachers
project I told them I wanted to make a
school in the Amazon but I do not
they took seriously they laughed at me and I
they said it was not possible for a girl
of 15 years builds a school in the
half the nothing
then I am where my parents told them
of my project I told them I wanted to do
something for the children of others
generations will not be without a
education and stay in the town of
your ancestors
they did not believe me either
nobody believed me capable of doing this
then I knew I had to do something
so that they believe me I knew that I had to
demonstrate what he was capable of
how he made me a party
in this rich party of $ 1200 not
it was so much to do a school at
less but it was enough to
to show my parents what I
I was able to do
so that same night I went where my
dads with money in their hands and they
I said here is
is the proof that I can be capable
to do something for this community
my parents obviously could not write
all the money that was being delivered to them
in my hands they asked me where
I took out and everything and I told them it’s a
party then I asked them to buy me
a ticket to go to Lima I wanted to go to
talk to the education ministry
of Peru because I wanted to ask for help and
support with this school
maybe to be surprised by everything
I was telling you at that time
they decided to support me
They said that they would accompany me to the Imam
but keep that money because they
they knew that he was going to found a school with
what I had left
then we went to Lima I went to the
education ministry of Peru with a
appointment I had asked for and they listened to me
I told them more or less the idea of
project I told you that there were 10 children who
they lived in that isolated community and that
they have an education
then they located on the map the
school and they told me they could not
help by keeping a school in a
so isolated place
but they told me they could help me
building a classroom and a classroom
of classes was the only thing I needed
I could hire a teacher I do not know about
where but I could
then I would come back still happy that I
they could help with a classroom
in that moment with my friend we started
look for people who could help us with the
project and yes a group of six
people and with them we started doing
the school we have events we do
as one to one each month
and with that money we fund the school
we buy materials we pay at
teacher monthly and we have this
silver for anything you need
good and that’s how my project is born
they saw the main arto car
goal of my project is to help and
improve the education of children and
collas
our first trip was in February
2016
here I brought my other classmates
that they did not know the Amazon and they
they fell in love with the beauty that is and
also of children obviously in this
trip we did a test to know when
they knew the children we asked them things
of books we teach numbers and they do not
They could read or write or anything
we hired the teacher and after a
year we came back and they already knew how to read write
they loved poetry
many will say geniuses in mathematics in
art
then it was amazing to go and see how
we could change the lives of 10 children 10
children is not much but it is something and we have
to start over there
also on May 15 this year
we founded our second school which is
on the small shoulder of this town that
is eight hours in coca canoe
then thanks to us thank you
there was a letter cacha 30 indigenous people
that they have access to an education
and in this education that we
we give we do not restrict ourselves to dressing
how they want to comb their hair as they want or
think as you want but you
we motivate you to feed your culture in this
school they learn literature
science music history but also
they learn from their culture because we
we do not want you to lose your culture and
that’s why we did not want these
children leave this town because
this town is strategic for
redwoods because it is right on the
border with Peru and Ecuador
then from the meeting point of
the Peruvian and Ecuadorian redwoods
so I want you to help me
sharing this story
I want you to understand that age is not
import
what matters is with what passion
do things and how willing
They are about to fulfill their dreams
so think about what really
want and move on and put your
time and energy in things that from
it does not matter they create new ideas
they want links with people who
they will take you seriously
make the proposals
and when they feel that the moment is the
correct be sure to do the only thing
that will help them get what they
they really want
ask
