my office here in Reggio Emilia is a
office full of very powerful computers
of cloud clouds and blackboard
scribbled by algorithms and models
mathematicians because we make plans
complexes that concern precisely analysis
of complex data in this office
there is a small kitchen that
selfishly I wanted because I
I come from Modena and not during the lunch break
I can go home and eat with me
the colleagues remain instead
they could go home for lunch but there
like to share this moment where there
let’s chat
our table is set in one
strange way that is pasta
There are nachos in the salad
there is zurek there is some rice cooked with
curry and turmeric of dg chicken
this is because we are different
nationality and some of us are
some Italians are Italians
returned to Italy after the ten
abroad and then there are people instead
two Indian boys 1 of cameroon one
Polish and one Mexican person
we are not different just for
nationalities we are different for age
we go from 25 years to 49 years we are
men and women even if in this
women are few, we would like to
many more
we are different by level of education the
Degrees are different there are those who graduated
in physics who in statistics who in
computer engineering in psychology a
who in communication and marketing that
the economy if we are very different between
we some accomplices of others without psd is
the language we use in this
lunch is partly Italian partly
English what we have in common
that there are those who want to perfect
Italian and who perfects English
we all have the goal of
improve our pronunciation because
unfortunately it’s the hardest thing and
when it’s more tiring for us then
we have other languages and their countries
from
or the years they have spent
abroad for their feet
what we’re talking about as advice
several we talk about the next championship
world of cricket in london in 2019
we talk about football and washing machines because
some of them do not have the slightest
idea of how to prepare a washing machine
we talk about food obviously because
however it is always an argument
important I discovered that the plane tree
in addition to being a stem shaft is
also a fruit and that you can eat ho
discovered that rice basmati chi in
India extremely expensive and that for
example the pomegranate does not exist like this
as they are not artichokes or others
other fruits or other vegetables
we talk about my teenage children
for them that for several of them that i
children do not have any quarrels about them
battles of the struggles I do with
they clearly support them for mine
children and not for me, however, there is in the game
of things then the money themes arrive
the demons of religion, culture
history, the traditions that are
however extremely interesting
what we have discovered is that in
world surnames are not attributed
based on the surname of the father but there are
criteria that can be different for
example the name of the village from which
it comes from it is true that in these
opportunities often all young people are
very different between us but a dish of
pasta or a chicken dg makes us agree
so all there are days when
we are all different but also all
equal
in reality we do not share only this a
none of us like to wash dishes
after this is another thing that there
unites
after lunch he played table football
play with me he knows that he has a very high score
chance of losing but in this case
patience after clearly we return to
work and also in this case we are
all the same and all different
we are all the same because we have one
sole objective of the business success e
the success of our projects though
we all contribute differently
because however we have different ages
different experiences
we have different roles in the company we have
different skills and a different character
so we have only one project
but that in reality is declined in many
ways
what
what we do together
we realize these projects
particularly ambitious innovation
technological and in a very market
difficult that we struggle to
penetrate and then we dedicate ourselves with
great passion for this great theme
we try to simplify complexity
with great tenacity and great
determination
then we do together for example we have
I cried together because unfortunately
gives him that is the daughter of my partner and
we have had to leave this year
greet her
following a long illness that has
however, many of us are celebrating
also renewal of a permit of
stay because in any case this gives
their freedom to stay in Italy
freedom to return home the freedom of
travel for tourism and then
traveling in the world we travel the world
for conferences for events to sell
because however our goal is
to sell our projects to
our products
the strategy so often comes to me
asked what strategy we applied
to get to be a company
multicultural we have not applied
no strategy is practically us
very concretely we have published
job announcements among candidates
who responded to these ads
work
we have selected more people
competent and closer to us as
personal and professional values and not
we have taken care of the skin color or
we chose the country of origin
the people we thought appropriate
for that corporate role so not
we have applied no strategy
we left that events
enjoy as they had to flow without
take care of their skin color
or just of other things not even the
language in the sense that one of the people
who works
we speak very little Italian speaks
predominantly English in then
we have left this simply
our selection processes are
were the selection processes of
anyone
I would like it to be true
what are our lunch ingredients?
I am humble curiosity towards
of other curiosity towards
different cultures
welcome and mutual respect
human compassion and absence of judgment
I believe this is the essence of
our lunch our gifts
Diversity is that we travel a lot
free that india africa the south
America seem to us much closer than
at one time and we have discovered different ways
to live in the best in the worst gods
our
and then we are more aware of the country
in which we live because through
their many questions in their eyes
we are more aware of so many things a
sometimes their questions are extremely
difficult because they ask us about the mafia
they ask us for red brigades
they ask for things that are enough
uncomfortable for us of the time in a
language that is not ours and transfer
the nuances are certainly not easy but
they force us to give us to make us
questions directly to be a lot
clear in what we answer too
because in English we can not
turn around in short
so we together think about it
we live and believe ourselves very strong and
also very competitive thanks
