Ice Ice Baby was about a weekend that I
had obviously in Miami a one a
beachfront Avenue is one of the lines
and then it says on the third verse it
says Miami my town that created the bass
sound which means the 808 kick drum um
you know it was just about the cruising
in my 5.0 and then you know explaining
the journey and the story of a weekend
that that I see in Miami Beach
so that was Ice Ice Baby I did it when I
was 16 years old but the craziest thing
is it’s not the biggest song I have
what’s going on right now is that the
entire Ninja Turtle generation is
running the world if you watched you
know the secret of the ooze part 2 I
wrote a song called the ninja rap and
right now that song has actually
surpassed Ice Ice Baby the entire world
the impact of the Ninja Turtles was so
big that people today in their 30s or
younger have all grew up to the Ninja
Turtles and the Ninja Turtles are just
as relevant today as they were back in
the day so that impact now has caused
them to get older and they’re like
everywhere I go I go in the mall instead
of them going Ice Ice Baby or if there
is a problem yo I’ll solve it they go go
ninja go ninja go I was the first one to
get sued really bad for sampling from
David Bowie and Queen under pressure
movie and instead of settle I settled
instead of going to court I settled and
I ended up buying the rights and now I
pretty much own under pressure because
it was cheaper than the lawsuit to just
buy the publishing the Freddie Mercury
and David blowing the Queen so I bought
the publishing and I bought my own
publishing back so I have my own
catalogue which was a smart move but
most people don’t have the resources to
buy that I did and I bought it back just
like Michael Jackson owns the Beatles I
own my publishing and
and a couple others its revenue it’s a
business I learned the business and then
I said whoa this is a business okay
let’s figure out the business so I
figured it out
once again the hard way but I did and
then I capitalized on it and that led to
me having enough money to invest in real
estate and find another passion in my
life and live the good life you know
live the dream but you have to pay along
the way to get to where I’m at today
