when I first got to Morocco I had a
four-hour Wardrobe call with Marco our
costume designer and it was exquisite
we were trying all these things and then
we sort of figured out that me
Herodias lashing Manuel really loves the
feel of silk so everything is silk for
the women it’s great it’s very glamorous
makeup the costumes are beautiful it’s
not every day you get to kind of wear
this stuff it’s been really nice coming
off a lot of contemporary stuff and
doing this this whole garb is is pretty
quite it’s quite dramatic and quite
phenomenal and soon as I pursue any
benefit of obviously I felt her it’s I
think it’s very important for an actor
to really have a conversation at a
language a dialogue with the budget
department I think it really helps with
it with who you are and it can really
help tell a story visually as well as
what the actors doing so ultimately it’s
very important on the aesthetics of it
as well
I know we have a crown I unfortunately
directed that but that immediately makes
me feel and cry to be compass sometimes
I’m wearing this crown that is it’s so
heavy it literally makes you walk
differently it makes you stand like a
queen and then just you know in private
in the chambers and whatever
still super queenly with the rich colors
but it’s often you know like a robe with
a kind of long vest on the top and
you know be a human necklaces and
earrings and crowns like it’s all you
know to me so over the top of my own
life I’m super simple and just when I
think like okay that’s enough they come
with this like giant necklace so this is
very comfortable actually I could I
could see myself lounging in this at
home but the colors of the ears you can
see are very vibrant and and I think
Salome’s had some of them nicest sort of
costumes her family are all very very
colorful and compared to a lot of the
rest of the film I’ve been very lucky
normally when I film in hot countries
I’m wearing wool and some sort of
medieval monstrosity but this is being
light and and just absolutely beautiful
to work with the guys have definitely
got it a lot harder they are there in
layers and layers and there was that
heat is not easy it’s it’s beautiful
everybody has just been blown away by
the costumes and makeup it’s been it’s
been great
