hello everyone marco montemagno here
digital domination summit 2013 with me
the next gasps torino visage co-founder
and CTO of even bright Huayra know how
you going hi everyone doing great thank
you yeah you know in San Francisco and I
think yeah i would say thirty percent of
the speakers from digital duration some
if they more or less where in san
francisco in California Silicon Valley
so that you are in death thirty percent
but you travel a lot I mean we met last
time in Paris and obviously you from
your ex enter your name I would say
you’re you French originally chosen so
you’re traveling a lot all over the
world to expand even bright and yeah
first of all let’s start from even
bright for people who don’t know what’s
even bright guys where did you live
until his mother because of it even
bright today though I think we know it’s
just a de facto standard if you wanna
sell a ticket for your event than you
just use even bright i think is just
becoming the word for for selling
tickets but just the 30 seconds of the
even prime mission if you for for people
who lost their space that they want to
understand better what it’s all about
sure thanks thanks for the intro of it
was ready to assure higher here is our
main marketer I’m the best unpaid
evangelist I would say but ok I’ll get a
copy for free i hope so we started seven
seven years ago we are given andrew your
hearts and we saw that there was a lack
of tools for organizers to manage the
advance to sell tickets through
sanitation’s there were a few tools are
there but nothing knows i really saw it
and that had all the things that you
know there’s an organizing to do right
in one place with be easy access be easy
to use so we always started with this
idea of creating a new product
and eventually to disrupt also the rest
of the skating world there were
companies that were the main players
indicating space for several years they
came before the internet but we so
really the combination of the evolution
of the Internet becoming so mainstream
vibrationally tickets become more and
more popular for alliance all kinds of
things and we thought that they would it
was must have been a better way to put
all this together and create a service
that serves both organizers and
attendees to make everybody’s life is
and that’s what we set out to do and we
have been pretty successful as you
mention we’ve grown into a sea of
different countries now we’re pretty
major in the US everybody in San
Francisco particular has pretty much
progress made I guess time what what one
thing we know that Justin I’m curious
about I was talking with seth godin
recently and by the way when you talk
with seth is like to be in university
with your teacher and every time you say
something you say gosh I did you know he
he correct me on everything you do and
it was very interesting wearing I
learned a lot of things and one thing
that he was really focused on was his
famous theory you know to start from a
tribe and start from a niche and then
grow from that passionate true fans
community so one curiosity they always
had about even brightest and okay now is
easy you know when I see the numbers i
think 1 billion of the girls did ticket
sales and you know a massive amount of
funding great revenues great now is easy
but when you big begun and I was
thinking of the right beginning where
did you start from because I mean events
are so different you have people
organizing all kind of events so if I
should apply the seth godin theory where
what tribe did you start from that was
good to understand how
did you kick off what was your strategy
in beginning well we never went
specifically after a try I think the
tribe have accepted husband most easily
at the beginning was our time here the
technology space some animals display so
very wiser started really using the
product anybody here love new products
of new things so there is sort of
platform that was useful for the events
there the herbs whatever type of an
event they were organizing and they
study abusing the platform one more from
that we expanded to many different type
communities around the u.s. first of all
and then eventually elsewhere in the
rest of the world so if you go to any
startup event there’s pretty much
anywhere in the world nowadays there’s a
big chance that it’s going to be an
event boy knows everybody reads the same
news and they’ve heard of our son and we
provided within two hours so basically
you started from from the tech tribe
tech community that also organized a lot
of event and and did you build a any say
a viral mmm feature by default when when
you when you create the platform that
you thought okay if you use even bright
you will have to share in a way that you
will be my ambassador every time you use
our platform you did it on purpose or or
both just you know it just happened well
you know the power of events is that one
organizer allows us to reach X number of
attendees so they’re going to invite
people to the event being a promo very
end all the time and each time they do
that they become our kind of our brand
ambassador because our branding is in
the confirmation emails again on Paige
who are the registrations of we get
distribution this way first and foremost
and that’s the natural when to give you
an event that’s what we like about that
space when Facebook Gilbert and started
to become very popular of course we
integrated with facebook for one tell
their friends where they’re going they
want to be with them when they go to
events so there was another natural
viral loop for getting
and the organizers enhance promoted so
we really benefit from that like this
massive promotion that people do on our
behalf and we’re doing on their behalf
first but we came from there as well
yeah also that there is an interesting
thing while you were speaking of
thinking about that if I’m an organizer
of a great event of a very important
event and I choose your platform I
immediately give a sort of certification
that your platform is is good and is the
right platform to you so if I’m an
authority among my my industry everyone
in that industry the next time organize
an event they will consider to use that
platform so this is an exponential
growth and it’s cool for you most yeah
every time we try to enter a new space
which I find the best event that or the
landmarks or that space and we try to go
after these first as a as a first effort
so we can say that X is using us like
why doesn’t my users what and I the
great leverage first convince other
people and a platform is solid that we
can facilitate events me up different
kinds of events when we did the big
concert with the black-eyed peas in
Central Park was the first concert in
Central Park for several years and we
made it happen for a charity come
elephant really gave us which legitimacy
in our capabilities to organize large
events yawns manager and also you gather
you’ve got a great performance on stage
app to say with Virgie so that was a
great moment ok I was a new record a
couple branding I mean to build a
international company you need to create
a brand and that people so enjoy and
like and and i would say people like
even bright is a friendly brand you know
that it works and it does what he ate
what it has to do so it is it you did a
good job in creating
a good brand where did you start from
and what kind of tips and suggestions
could you give to all our viewers here
well we started with another brain we
change to even write really quickly
because our former brand even have any
mention of events and who continue with
mostly here like evolving mail until we
found the right one but once we think
that one we try really hard to come up
with what we believe in and what our
brand tenants are and I think that’s
been driving both product developments
the marketing we do the pitches we give
to our salespeople all of that is
coherent because we know what our core
values are and what we’re trying to
accomplish for our clients okay so if
you just said exactly what we want like
everything works that’s one of the
things we want people to say about us we
want to be a friendly ground all of
these things we take into account every
day into everything we do our logo
change several times just so that we can
convey these messages that we want to
convey through our brand to our users of
just people who buy a ticket on a
platform so it’s it’s all something
that’s critical I think for every
company out there establishing a brand
that’s the hardest thing to do it takes
several years usually you get a year of
advance of all times before you
recognize it so I think that’s what most
of the global players out there have
managed to do is to create this aura or
this image that people have about their
company through the brand and and
because a lot of work a lot of attention
a lot of effort into it to really
crystallized with your messages and
manage to convey this through this iron
who you can feel through messaging
everything is taken into account these
days but you start from core values so
basically you you set up the core values
and then you build up from there every
single pieces of the exercise where you
put adjectives on the world try to carry
what your company should feel like two
people and what you feel like about your
company as well and what you’re trying
to convey and all these brainstorming
sessions helped us identify four or five
core values that we want to be promoting
all the time yeah and I think that’s a
good way to come to think about branding
in general like when are you trying to
say to the world when you try how are
you going to convince people to use your
platform where are you at as change if
you want push forward no cash for all
the time well arenal i recently read in
an interview tomb I think was on
Bloomberg business maybe I have it here
somewhere I don’t remember and I was
really impressed by no I don’t have it
but I was impressed by the founder of
Netflix hustings ray recasting something
and he was talking about the technical
challenges and i discovered that
basically all the netflix which is which
amounts at one-third of the the web
traffic so it is really hate the word
watch videos on netflix amazing they are
on amazon web service so they use the
amazon platform and basically they are
consulting amazon to improve old for the
platform because they have a big
experience but they did a radical choice
you know so they said okay to create a
technical platform we go with a player
that already is doing that job but we
don’t try to build it in house even
bright has to serve millions of users
around the war so i was wondering what
kind of technical challenges and again
what lessons you learned in this sector
and what what lessons you you could
share here the right choice is to do
in-house outsourcing how to be efficient
how to be stable when you serve so so
many people yeah I mean it’s earth it’s
a constant fire together if all as your
traffic across we started with one so
I had everything on it okay now one
third hundreds of servers on amazon web
services as well okay so as traffic to
us you will have pain we had pain we
work through the pain we finding
solutions that involve either hiring the
right people to help us go through that
pain or getting more servers or each
time it’s different like you never I
think you can predict what’s going to
happen and even currently and we have a
stable platform it’s always up we
monitor everything about it we know when
every server house is like issuing and
all that infrastructure was put in place
throughout the years you cannot start
with the perfect architecture and you
shouldn’t because you don’t know if your
product is going to be successful so you
really have to adapt with the increasing
demand for your your product and however
I think the most important is to plan
ahead once you have some data that can
help you predict what your future growth
will be okay so now we have pretty good
pretty pretty good measure parks or
having been running for seven years we
know where the growth is we know where
the bottlenecks are going to be we can
be a lot more active in our selecting
the right solutions and and even amazon
web services it’s a great platform but
once in a while they have issues as well
shall we should face that and two or
three times already so that gets thrown
into the mix and forces you to come up
with solutions that’s part of what we’re
doing right now intro we’re always on
even if all of the east coast is down
yeah also get challenge for any company
especially small companies that might
not have the founding that we have we
have this nice question that allows us
to be a bit more flexible than other
companies can be and have a lot of info
you can record 28 of June is the day of
digital domination summit and Jeff Bezos
called me and say I’m ready you know
with Amazon what service because um
crash our infrastructure so I tell you
if we open on even bright be ready 28 or
to set it on the calendar because could
be a hot day for you guys look II really
dear you kill many very high seven
events recently so we know we could we
know we can take it you’re right
nobody’s amazing how is I was thinking I
I I was fun yeah it was I think two
thousand state six and it was before
cloud basically and and for my company
that indie animals you know three
million tremere half unique visitors per
month so was not a small one but it was
not what was not a big one you know was
not Facebook of course but but the pain
was so massive you know and without
cloud or server so when you get more
traffic you were happy on one side on
the other side you shake shack we need
to we talking about the same time and
they’ll have that pain took care of five
days to get in your store at the time so
now you know better i think renault but
on the other sites still painful because
you know is the technology is always you
know changing and the you have different
kind of problems yeah but i think
entrepreneurs today I have so many tools
at our disposal that didn’t exist before
and I call the cloud services all the
frameworks out there that take the
complexity or very hot problems to solve
into libraries that you can just import
I think there’s been a great effort put
into open source projects over the last
ten years that make life of the
interpreter in general favorite easier
and used yeah and also meant i must is
much less as well as yeah but also i
mean platform like even bright i was
thinking before you know when you have
to organize an event what you’re gonna
do you know you you have to create a
website and create it was a lot of work
so now there are local yeah lot of
platforms
was our main competition at the time
yeah mobile this is you know everyone’s
a mobile-first now and great Mark
Zuckerberg I think December last year
say Facebook is a mobile company i would
say after ears that was not mobile at
all but then they totally change and now
they mobile mobile mobile what’s the the
right direction to take their i filled
my feeling talking with a lot of
companies around is that it’s still
painful to create an app to say okay i
have to develop enough from zero and
then is another thing to maintain and to
update so still difficult to understand
the right direction what are your all of
your take on it so anyway very conscious
that mobile is is here and it’s here to
strangle and i don’t think mobile first
and only to distribution for us there’s
still things that how much is your done
on the desktop or on a laptop like
creating an event and a simple event you
could probably potentially be created on
your mobile phone but with all the
features we have be very hard to come up
with a mobile version that would be as
easy of use than the web version so with
a conscious that the mobile of the
mobile strength like for even discovery
i think that’s a great platform and then
we putting a lot of effort there just to
surface events that will be of interest
to you as a person so building for the
recommendation engines allow us to give
you personalized feedback on on what
events we think you would be interested
in that’s something we’ve put a lot of
effort into recently Chunkin and
anything that’s done noisy on mobile and
ipad should be that’s the way to go for
features that where the where is kind of
instruction of in your laptop when you
can just open your app and do it on the
go as usual hallmarks when you’re
planning your weekend with
okay and find something that’s that’s an
interesting till excuse me excuse me if
I talk your random so basically you
suggest go mobile get your damn app done
and you have to do it anyway that’s the
point well Google is your application
justifies okay don’t go mobile for the
sake of going mobile cause if you go
mobile and nobody’s using your product
and you’ve wasted a lot of efforts okay
so make sure you have a valid case for
people to use your application on their
fault and that doesn’t apply to everyone
I could think of b2b software that just
will never make it through a mobile app
because it’s complaints it has so many
features of creating a simple experience
on a mobile phone isn’t it sounds right
how to go international this is a happy
problem i would say because I mean to go
international you first have to build
your business and then you can scale and
this is the kind of happy problem that
you have to solve or you started to show
them you now face every day again where
do you start from how do you
internationalize your business with
languages translations different
countries different cultures is a big
tough challenge so again what what with
your with your point on the shirt sooty
Tern yeah I thinking in the life of the
company it’s probably one of the major
milestone when you become international
because if it changes everything you
cannot give reliant on one market
anymore you can transform every
department of your company to really
think about international when they do
something for the US market what’s the
equivalent in the UK market or the
French market yeah so first of all in
your platform is to be internet
international as of all you need to find
the right way to do translations we
spend a lot of time making it automated
so now all the new strings that
developer create every day
push automatically to a translation
server where the translators pick it up
no can I translate it and get it gets
back into the code if effortlessly
pissed because it’s all to be a bit no
that’s a immense gang of time and we can
see me simultaneously ship most of our
features internationally now because of
that automation work I think the biggest
challenge once you have a platform in in
different languages is making sure you
dedicate enough resources to grow its
market we have people using us all over
the world I think last year we have 190
countries no cannon events on a platform
so we know there is demand but matching
the demand with the products making the
right marketing campaigns and having the
right sales strategies which country
that’s that sort of challenge that is
much harder to solve them yeah adding a
few lines of code you need often times
depends on your business of course
facebook groups we have sales reps so
they have a different model of them but
for me but for example I mean if you
have to open i don’t know in Poland but
I don’t know why just just to say like
Poland or somewhere city country there
lot of users and she performs the world
okay hopefully brutally right so silly
but where do you start from my me and
say okay Paula we open in Poland the
both the first steps that that a company
should do I first knowing if you legal
here lads you do business there right
that’s a good point creating the
platform in polish and then decide on
what kind of marketing effort into some
countries we don’t do anything we put
some at some on google adwords really do
some PR we know can get initiatives that
don’t require having people on the
ground other countries we invest fully
we decide that we can focus on this
country for this year or for this border
and really hire people and interesting
replicate pretty much the structure that
we have here for making our company
successful he really get smarter
eventually that’s what we need movie
yellow same functional that we are here
but
who else cool so you say you can go
international in some countries without
having physical people over there and in
other countries where you want to go
full full speed it depends on your
business with a lot of payment options
for example than or they’ll only in a
particular country requires you have a
local presence yes something you have to
think about right we’re in e-commerce
company first and foremost we do process
transactions every day currencies and
managing that accepting the right
haven’t methods of these have to take be
taken into account yeah excellent last
point and just a couple things more than
I let you go online and offline well
what I like about even bright is that is
a mix of online platform but is a
physical event well not always physical
are also online events or webinar
whatever but basically is a good match
between online and offline how do you
handle two words so different well it’s
what we liked about the space like we
have a real impact on people’s daily
lies people get together thanks to us
and that’s really the biggest reward we
can hope for it has a challenges like we
provide tools for doing check-in outside
so when you’re at the door we have your
mobile apps that you can use to stand
people so it has will affect on on
scaling and if if we have not done it
the right way you would have been in
fact on how many people who need to
service each different market but
thankfully we met the decisions to come
up with tools that are available to
anyone to do entry management for
example to sell tickets gear box office
things that you can just download on the
web and we have been running on your
iPhone or iPad or your Android device at
any time so that’s how we bridge to the
offline world to the online world by
providing the right tools that are as
always c4 to use that work we also
familiarize with
and some people we have the field
operations tlk goes with music festivals
just to set everything up when it’s
50,000 people things have to work like
when people have to be trained on how to
use the software so we do have that
component that is a big value add for
for our customers all right Reynold
three tools I always ask this question
did all the speakers at digital mention
something three tools 3f or three
platforms that you use for your business
and you would recommend to improve you
know the way companies are running their
their stuff online the how they could be
more efficient or or they could more
better do you have any particular
renault visage chart well as a CTO and
i’m going to focus on the tape products
we use and i can say that github and get
in general is one product that negative
impact on how we work okay that’s our
default source control repository
knowledge and we use it every day and
successfully grr also is another tool we
use to manage our workload train tickets
assigning them planning etc that’s one
of the spelling in the name of the
second 100 seein all right okay and and
just to clarify to people with not too
much technical github is basically a
code repository so when you develop a
code you just upload it there and it’s a
way to control the bugging and more
together and everything yeah github is
the hosting service that you can host
your kit repository on and get is a new
way of controlling revisions to files so
it’s much lighter and faster much easier
to work on different branches in
different parts of the company and merge
everything together at some point
accelerates the way of the future all
right Reynold thank you so much we when
really long but I was interested also in
following the
rice story and good luck for everything
renault visage co-founder and CTO even

organize next time even bright calm and

things we want people to say about us we
want to be a friendly ground all of
these things we take into account every
day into everything we do our logo
change several times just so that we can
convey these messages that we want to
convey through our brand to our users of
just people who buy a ticket on a
platform so it’s it’s all something
that’s critical I think for every
company out there establishing a brand
that’s the hardest thing to do it takes
several years usually you get a year of
advance of all times before you
recognize it so I think that’s what most
of the global players out there have
managed to do is to create this aura or
this image that people have about their
company through the brand and and
because a lot of work a lot of attention
a lot of effort into it to really
crystallized with your messages and
manage to convey this through this iron
who you can feel through messaging
everything is taken into account these
days but you start from core values so
basically you you set up the core values
and then you build up from there every
single pieces of the exercise where you
put adjectives on the world try to carry
what your company should feel like two
people and what you feel like about your
company as well and what you’re trying
to convey and all these brainstorming
sessions helped us identify four or five
core values that we want to be promoting
all the time yeah and I think that’s a
good way to come to think about branding
in general like when are you trying to
say to the world when you try how are
you going to convince people to use your
platform where are you at as change if
you want push forward no cash for all
the time well arenal i recently read in
an interview tomb I think was on
Bloomberg business maybe I have it here
somewhere I don’t remember and I was
really impressed by no I don’t have it
but I was impressed by the founder of
Netflix hustings ray recasting something
and he was talking about the technical
challenges and i discovered that
basically all the netflix which is which
amounts at one-third of the the web
traffic so it is really hate the word
watch videos on netflix amazing they are
on amazon web service so they use the
amazon platform and basically they are
consulting amazon to improve old for the
platform because they have a big
experience but they did a radical choice
you know so they said okay to create a
technical platform we go with a player
that already is doing that job but we
don’t try to build it in house even
bright has to serve millions of users
around the war so i was wondering what
kind of technical challenges and again
what lessons you learned in this sector
and what what lessons you you could
share here the right choice is to do
in-house outsourcing how to be efficient
how to be stable when you serve so so
many people yeah I mean it’s earth it’s
a constant fire together if all as your
traffic across we started with one so
I had everything on it okay now one
third hundreds of servers on amazon web
services as well okay so as traffic to
us you will have pain we had pain we
work through the pain we finding
solutions that involve either hiring the
right people to help us go through that
pain or getting more servers or each
time it’s different like you never I
think you can predict what’s going to
happen and even currently and we have a
stable platform it’s always up we
monitor everything about it we know when
every server house is like issuing and
all that infrastructure was put in place
throughout the years you cannot start
with the perfect architecture and you
shouldn’t because you don’t know if your
product is going to be successful so you
really have to adapt with the increasing
demand for your your product and however
I think the most important is to plan
ahead once you have some data that can
help you predict what your future growth
will be okay so now we have pretty good
pretty pretty good measure parks or
having been running for seven years we
know where the growth is we know where
the bottlenecks are going to be we can
be a lot more active in our selecting
the right solutions and and even amazon
web services it’s a great platform but
once in a while they have issues as well
shall we should face that and two or
three times already so that gets thrown
into the mix and forces you to come up
with solutions that’s part of what we’re
doing right now intro we’re always on
even if all of the east coast is down
yeah also get challenge for any company
especially small companies that might
not have the founding that we have we
have this nice question that allows us
to be a bit more flexible than other
companies can be and have a lot of info
you can record 28 of June is the day of
digital domination summit and Jeff Bezos
called me and say I’m ready you know
with Amazon what service because um
crash our infrastructure so I tell you
if we open on even bright be ready 28 or
to set it on the calendar because could
be a hot day for you guys look II really
dear you kill many very high seven
events recently so we know we could we
know we can take it you’re right
nobody’s amazing how is I was thinking I
I I was fun yeah it was I think two
thousand state six and it was before
cloud basically and and for my company
that indie animals you know three
million tremere half unique visitors per
month so was not a small one but it was
not what was not a big one you know was
not Facebook of course but but the pain
was so massive you know and without
cloud or server so when you get more
traffic you were happy on one side on
the other side you shake shack we need
to we talking about the same time and
they’ll have that pain took care of five
days to get in your store at the time so
now you know better i think renault but
on the other sites still painful because
you know is the technology is always you
know changing and the you have different
kind of problems yeah but i think
entrepreneurs today I have so many tools
at our disposal that didn’t exist before
and I call the cloud services all the
frameworks out there that take the
complexity or very hot problems to solve
into libraries that you can just import
I think there’s been a great effort put
into open source projects over the last
ten years that make life of the
interpreter in general favorite easier
and used yeah and also meant i must is
much less as well as yeah but also i
mean platform like even bright i was
thinking before you know when you have
to organize an event what you’re gonna
do you know you you have to create a
website and create it was a lot of work
so now there are local yeah lot of
platforms
was our main competition at the time
yeah mobile this is you know everyone’s
a mobile-first now and great Mark
Zuckerberg I think December last year
say Facebook is a mobile company i would
say after ears that was not mobile at
all but then they totally change and now
they mobile mobile mobile what’s the the
right direction to take their i filled
my feeling talking with a lot of
companies around is that it’s still
painful to create an app to say okay i
have to develop enough from zero and
then is another thing to maintain and to
update so still difficult to understand
the right direction what are your all of
your take on it so anyway very conscious
that mobile is is here and it’s here to
strangle and i don’t think mobile first
and only to distribution for us there’s
still things that how much is your done
on the desktop or on a laptop like
creating an event and a simple event you
could probably potentially be created on
your mobile phone but with all the
features we have be very hard to come up
with a mobile version that would be as
easy of use than the web version so with
a conscious that the mobile of the
mobile strength like for even discovery
i think that’s a great platform and then
we putting a lot of effort there just to
surface events that will be of interest
to you as a person so building for the
recommendation engines allow us to give
you personalized feedback on on what
events we think you would be interested
in that’s something we’ve put a lot of
effort into recently Chunkin and
anything that’s done noisy on mobile and
ipad should be that’s the way to go for
features that where the where is kind of
instruction of in your laptop when you
can just open your app and do it on the
go as usual hallmarks when you’re
planning your weekend with
okay and find something that’s that’s an
interesting till excuse me excuse me if
I talk your random so basically you
suggest go mobile get your damn app done
and you have to do it anyway that’s the
point well Google is your application
justifies okay don’t go mobile for the
sake of going mobile cause if you go
mobile and nobody’s using your product
and you’ve wasted a lot of efforts okay
so make sure you have a valid case for
people to use your application on their
fault and that doesn’t apply to everyone
I could think of b2b software that just
will never make it through a mobile app
because it’s complaints it has so many
features of creating a simple experience
on a mobile phone isn’t it sounds right
how to go international this is a happy
problem i would say because I mean to go
international you first have to build
your business and then you can scale and
this is the kind of happy problem that
you have to solve or you started to show
them you now face every day again where
do you start from how do you
internationalize your business with
languages translations different
countries different cultures is a big
tough challenge so again what what with
your with your point on the shirt sooty
Tern yeah I thinking in the life of the
company it’s probably one of the major
milestone when you become international
because if it changes everything you
cannot give reliant on one market
anymore you can transform every
department of your company to really
think about international when they do
something for the US market what’s the
equivalent in the UK market or the
French market yeah so first of all in
your platform is to be internet
international as of all you need to find
the right way to do translations we
spend a lot of time making it automated
so now all the new strings that
developer create every day
push automatically to a translation
server where the translators pick it up
no can I translate it and get it gets
back into the code if effortlessly
pissed because it’s all to be a bit no
that’s a immense gang of time and we can
see me simultaneously ship most of our
features internationally now because of
that automation work I think the biggest
challenge once you have a platform in in
different languages is making sure you
dedicate enough resources to grow its
market we have people using us all over
the world I think last year we have 190
countries no cannon events on a platform
so we know there is demand but matching
the demand with the products making the
right marketing campaigns and having the
right sales strategies which country
that’s that sort of challenge that is
much harder to solve them yeah adding a
few lines of code you need often times
depends on your business of course
facebook groups we have sales reps so
they have a different model of them but
for me but for example I mean if you
have to open i don’t know in Poland but
I don’t know why just just to say like
Poland or somewhere city country there
lot of users and she performs the world
okay hopefully brutally right so silly
but where do you start from my me and
say okay Paula we open in Poland the
both the first steps that that a company
should do I first knowing if you legal
here lads you do business there right
that’s a good point creating the
platform in polish and then decide on
what kind of marketing effort into some
countries we don’t do anything we put
some at some on google adwords really do
some PR we know can get initiatives that
don’t require having people on the
ground other countries we invest fully
we decide that we can focus on this
country for this year or for this border
and really hire people and interesting
replicate pretty much the structure that
we have here for making our company
successful he really get smarter
eventually that’s what we need movie
yellow same functional that we are here
but
who else cool so you say you can go
international in some countries without
having physical people over there and in
other countries where you want to go
full full speed it depends on your
business with a lot of payment options
for example than or they’ll only in a
particular country requires you have a
local presence yes something you have to
think about right we’re in e-commerce
company first and foremost we do process
transactions every day currencies and
managing that accepting the right
haven’t methods of these have to take be
taken into account yeah excellent last
point and just a couple things more than
I let you go online and offline well
what I like about even bright is that is
a mix of online platform but is a
physical event well not always physical
are also online events or webinar
whatever but basically is a good match
between online and offline how do you
handle two words so different well it’s
what we liked about the space like we
have a real impact on people’s daily
lies people get together thanks to us
and that’s really the biggest reward we
can hope for it has a challenges like we
provide tools for doing check-in outside
so when you’re at the door we have your
mobile apps that you can use to stand
people so it has will affect on on
scaling and if if we have not done it
the right way you would have been in
fact on how many people who need to
service each different market but
thankfully we met the decisions to come
up with tools that are available to
anyone to do entry management for
example to sell tickets gear box office
things that you can just download on the
web and we have been running on your
iPhone or iPad or your Android device at
any time so that’s how we bridge to the
offline world to the online world by
providing the right tools that are as
always c4 to use that work we also
familiarize with
and some people we have the field
operations tlk goes with music festivals
just to set everything up when it’s
50,000 people things have to work like
when people have to be trained on how to
use the software so we do have that
component that is a big value add for
for our customers all right Reynold
three tools I always ask this question
did all the speakers at digital mention
something three tools 3f or three
platforms that you use for your business
and you would recommend to improve you
know the way companies are running their
their stuff online the how they could be
more efficient or or they could more
better do you have any particular
renault visage chart well as a CTO and
i’m going to focus on the tape products
we use and i can say that github and get
in general is one product that negative
impact on how we work okay that’s our
default source control repository
knowledge and we use it every day and
successfully grr also is another tool we
use to manage our workload train tickets
assigning them planning etc that’s one
of the spelling in the name of the
second 100 seein all right okay and and
just to clarify to people with not too
much technical github is basically a
code repository so when you develop a
code you just upload it there and it’s a
way to control the bugging and more
together and everything yeah github is
the hosting service that you can host
your kit repository on and get is a new
way of controlling revisions to files so
it’s much lighter and faster much easier
to work on different branches in
different parts of the company and merge
everything together at some point
accelerates the way of the future all
right Reynold thank you so much we when
really long but I was interested also in
following the
rice story and good luck for everything
renault visage co-founder and CTO even
bright guys if you have a new bed to
organize next time even bright calm and
is the right place to go you know thank
you so much and see you next Thank You morrow
