today I’ll be testing my prototype web
cartridge you just fill it with 25 feet
of Kevlar cord that is rated up to 2,000
pounds now I know that setup is bulky
but we can always make improvements and
you be clear I’m trying to make Peter
Parker’s version which is homemade and
kind of comparable in size go ahead and
ring the bell you can stay up to date
with all my newest releases if you’re
new to this channel you can expect a lot
more videos like this because what I’m
trying to do here is inspire others to
be more creative and make new things
stop telling yourself you can’t do
something or you don’t know how to do
something YouTube is the first place I
go to when I want to learn a new skill
all right so here is our model within
the program fusion 360 this is a free
software you can download I’ll leave a
link in the description the best part
about it in my opinion is that it’s
reliable and all the files that I have
are in a cloud so I can pretty much just
load up all my designs and drawings from
wherever and it makes it really awesome
for collaborating so at the bottom here
I’m going to put in some of these hex
bolts thinking about changing this
design and just using the actual threads
to go on the bottom here and then
cutting off the hex bolt cap because
there were some problems with the rope
actually catching on threaded portion of
the rod now this part right here is
going to clip into the bottom of this
cartridge and this is what’s going to
hold all of our rope and keep it nice
and organized and stacked in a way that
it’s usable so go ahead and check out
fusion 360 I’ll leave a link in the
description where you can go ahead and
download it

so the idea would be that I have a third
plate on the bottom of this that will
hold all these spokes that would be the
sole purpose of that piece now after I
clip in this right here as you saw it
lines up what I could do is pull out
these spikes and then this will just
basically be sitting in the cartridge
now I just printed this because it
doesn’t make sense for me to go ahead
and print everything if I don’t know
that the designs are actually going to
work so this is kind of just a
simulation to see if it will line up and
if it will fit over top of our table
here or our kevlar cords so imagine
pulling out these spikes and you’d still
have everything sitting like so just in
a nice little organized package now
whenever this finally leaves the barrel
you’re not going to have all these
little spikes here and so it’s going to
very easily come apart like so

I went ahead and placed these rods and
here pretty cool how I was able to
design them so that you can just put the
bolts in that so if they don’t really
hang off the edge the way this is going
to work I’m going to take this piece
which will eventually be removed and
place the bottom portion of the
cartridge in place we’re going to weave
our rope in and out as I showed you
before and then you take your cap and
place it on here which will then engage
with the bottom plate here now I
stupidly made the state of not extruding
through I don’t know what I was thinking
but you can kind of see where the layer
line is right here so I think I’m going
to go kind of hit it with a hacksaw or
something and try and cut that as nice
as possible and maybe sand it up so that
it will at least give us a prototype
version

to go ahead and use the standard just to
clean off the nasty bird

now here’s what I would expect it to
look like from the inside and then
travel up the entire cartridge all right
now this rope is going to help signal
whenever the grappling hook has reached
its full range so it’s going to
basically come out of the cartridge and
this is going to travel up giving me
just enough time to be able to grab on
to it and this is just kind of let me
know whenever it’s starting to be
depleted completely and then the
cartridge goes on here they’ll probably
attack attack magnet and it’ll look like
something like this yeah have my
spider-man web here from the last
episode I’m going to take the roll
grappling hook and a place in here I’m
going to redesign probably this entire
unit using 3d printing although I may
keep the little trigger because I think
that’s kind of a difficult part to 3d
print and it’s just kind of perfect
however I’m going to try and get it to
flip back and lay on top of this thing
and maybe even accommodate before the
cartridge so I’m going to fire this
thing this is going to flip in midair
and this is very similar to Colin Furze
as grappling hook from the Assassin’s
Creed and because this is coiled up and
here it will just be removed like so so
you can see here that this little clips
wet down the middle a little bit too
much pressure but we need that in order
for this to stay on nice and snug so I
went to the store and purchased one of
these one-inch clamps use a really nice
because it already has this plastic
insulation so I’m not really going to
have to use any electrical tape to keep
this from sliding around I’m a dollar
store the land of hidden treasure
I’m thinking to myself I need a strap
for this when a web shooter I’m like oh
does the crap I’ve to crack the broom
ninja spider-man ninja I’m so happy

yeah a buck I mean you risk can’t beat
it
alright so would even fit on my wrist oh
yes like barely Wow that will do
I’m not really too confident on it but
at least I have this awesome knife
looking oh come on oh just a bit in
there – oh yeah whoa hey how are you

this is really going to just ruin
everything I’m not really I’m not really
going to be able to remove this once
it’s done but I don’t think at this
point I have a choice I got to just do
this over the best

waiting for hours for this two-three
print and there’s honestly no telling if
it’s even going to work so I’d rather
not waste filament for time and I think
it’s actually the better I mean it’s
just easier to work I mean you guys can
do it I’m sure you can find cardboard
somewhere not perfect but for a
prototype still do now what we do is
take this and slot it in there oh that’s
nice Wow
right and then grab the plate here and
you would pull this back I just want to
test this out and I know that you want
to see it as well so I don’t want to
hold back just to make it perfect cuz I
care I just I don’t care enough to
stress over the small details and I know
that you have creativity and you can
imagine how this would be when it’s
fully 3d printed and everything else I
mean it’s not that different it’s just a
lot stronger but I actually think the
cardboard adds a little bit of
flexibility where it’s needed and I
think that it’s going to work nice now I
know this doesn’t look like much and it
is very bulky but the idea would be to
have different cartridge sort of on
local felt or something like that
and I added little magnets but this will
attach onto I can have another one here
but this is just a prototype
yeah there’s duct tape and it bulky but
we’re talking actual grappling hook here
this will actually hold my weights and
there’s about 25 feet of line standing
middle-of-the-road
with LED on the die
I’m not very confident that I’m going to
get it on the first try every superhero
you need to practice with their gear and
obviously I’m not expert I just built
this thing we’re going to add a flyer
three two one so don’t exercise one of
the coaches but see that work oh it
works and then this last port here will
just be where I grab on to it I have an
idea of how this is going to work and
it’s going to take some experimenting
last time you can see basically whenever
I held on to the rope and it kind of
gave me some rope burn from last time so
I’m going to have to redesign some way
to hold on to this thing and I have a
couple ideas that’ll probably the last
thing that I do because if I really
wanted to go above and beyond I would
add this locking mechanism but I’m sure
it’d be just as easy to have some sort
of hook or just to tie it off somehow
and make a knot I mean something that
rope climbers would use to just
basically tied in a knot I don’t know
I’m sure I could look into it but I’d
like to have it so that I can grab the
Rope I can lock it in the civil
mechanism and it will hold on and then
that mechanism will be attached to the
harness so that I don’t have to rip my
arm off now if you look on the market
there are some toys that actually are
the same size of this that only shoot
darts and the toy isn’t even very good
based off of the reviews that I’ve seen
so I think it’s kind of funny that you
have a large company that has engineered
profession
we’re making stuff that isn’t even close
to what this can do I’m not trying to
like say that I’m great or anything but
it’s just kind of like annoying that
there’s really no application for this
in real life I mean maybe for military
aspect and this might actually exist in
some former version that we just don’t
know about but the problem is that if
there isn’t a market to buy things like
this then companies just don’t make it
happen so it’s up to you tubers like
myself
