hey everyone so here I have a RC car
it’s called the exceed mad torque rock
crawler
it’s a 1/8 inch scale RC car and it was
sent to me as a sponsorship for a build
by Nitro RC XCOM and I believe they’re
also affiliated with hobby parts comm so
check them out I reached out to them and
said hey I wanted to upgrade an RC car
with a paintball turret because the
creators of the ziggo beast as a thank
you for helping me with their campaign
wanted to sort of volunteer their time
and understanding of robotics to
integrate a sort of like turret to go on
top so pretty much looking at something
like this that would be pretty awesome
and also if I had a controller with
enough channels could also have these
little airsoft pistols so I’m also
looking at another possible sponsorship
through a company that does gaming
tournaments and we’ll see how that goes
the idea is to model this after Bastion
from the new game overwash and Bastion
is this robot that is super awesome as a
friendly little bird pet and it has a
machine gun but it can transform into a
turret and also can transform into a
tank that is pretty devastating so I
thought this was pretty awesome and now
that I have a 3d printer I’ll be able to
build maybe some armor for it
they also this potential sponsor may
also do something because they’re
starting to do stuff with 3d printing so
it’s a really good combination and we’ll
see how that goes now the cool thing
about this gun is it shoots paintballs
obviously and it has its own co2
cartridge holder and its own magazine
and it’s semi-automatics you prime that
and then just keep shooting until you
run out of ammo so I thought that was
pretty cool and these little airsoft
pistols are fully automatic so that’s
just a literally just the click of a
switch through the servos and boom you
have a airsoft firing now I don’t know I
guess we could raise and lower this and
then just use the steering to shoot but
it’d be really cool to have a turret on
top and that’s where my friends over at
Z go beast
are going to hopefully help me out so
I’m not gonna do like a review of this
because there’s tons of stuff like that
out there and that’s probably not what
you want to see I will however show you
just how it’s capable now it is kind of
slow because it’s a crawler but it’s
meant to get over rough terrain so
that’s why the tank idea was inspired
because it’s not very fast but it’s easy
to control and also it’s good for going
through really rough obstacles and
climbing up steep hills
unlike most other really quick RC cars
that also cannot hold or bear very much
weight so I think what I’m gonna do just
for a test is secure this thing maybe
with some like tape and see if it can do
all this stuff while still holding the
weight of this paintball pistol which is
pretty hefty so I’ll show you guys that
now so here you can see a very crudely
electrical tape of the gun to the
chassis of the rostral car just to see
does this thing even have the ability to
carry the extra weight and still be able
to run adequately so you can see it’s
actually pretty cool there’s these
little lights built into it and I took
off plastic because that’s really just
for aesthetics
and doesn’t weigh enough to actually
affect the performance my opinion I am
moving this very slowly you can see the
benefit of being able to write up no
problem I know this is kind of a Wimpy
little course but not trying to like
judge its performance you just want to
see man yeah the idea is if there was
some sort of crazy catastrophe and we
needed to scope out a building for cover
for like zombies we would send this guy
in with like a camera and maybe like a
distraction drone of some sort so here
we have a pre steep hill and see I’m
gonna try it out go through the mud here
see if we can power through that no
problem
Rock disease
all we need is like first-person video
some sort
I love when people drive by and they’re
just like what is he doing
does it seem like it’s losing very much
energy either like its I kind of want to
stress test this thing and see how much
weight and I actually put on it without
it actually being able to perform keep
in mind it just rained so like there’s a
bit of moisture on the ground so you can
see the wheels are wet and muddy and
it’s still all nasty it is still
chugging right up that hill
even with this gun which is probably
around I don’t know probably would guess
like three or four pounds so that’s
that’s pretty good I’m impressed and
when they drive back it’s like wait let
me just get a second look at what this
guy is doing huh I love it so that’s
pretty much it guys and gals so
definitely leave a comment letting me
know what you think I should do to
upgrade this thing I’m thinking maybe
like stun-gun portions on the front so I
could like ram into something I mean it
it’s pretty quiet you heard and I don’t
know probably could add a flamethrower
I’m thinking it’s gonna be something
Chihuahua roaster just kidding I love
dogs
except that one it’s really barky anyway
so that’s pretty much that leave a
comment on the upgrades this is kind of
an alternative to the ziggo beast and
it’s going to be awesome and there’s
