you want to get some idea of the
intelligence adaptability and all-round
gregariousness Pig then what you have to
do it stink money if you go out for a
walk in the woods with a dog you know
they’re going to be charging around
looking down holes and generally having
a lovely old time if you went for a walk
with a pig the pig would spend a lot
more time with its snout dog firmly in
the ground actually turning the ground
over looking for goodies to eat this is
called routing and rooting behavior is
perhaps one of the most essential
features of a pig behaving how a pig is
meant to behave all domesticated pigs
are descended from wild boar so what’s a
pig’s natural environment well this is
right here in the woods
hello piggley’s hello big mummies here
comes tea
no no no no that’s not what I had in
mind darling darling come on you come
back in you come back in oh what a
relief
right come on grubs up okay so we’re not
in the forest here but we are in a
genuinely stimulating environment and
one that really encourages the pigs
rooting behaviour
there we go
these sows have got fantastic maternal
instincts they do literally build a nest
for their piglets and it’s quite
impressive to see
and they really nurtured them in the
most fantastic caring way whoa and when
they turn on your feet it really hurts
you right you too
you fancy a Kip after your tea if you go
in there you won’t find even a speck of
pig poo because these animals really are
surprisingly clean aren’t you they do
like a good scratch though in fact you
won’t find any pig poo in the immediate
vicinity of the ark because they always
go away from where they’re living to do
their business you’re coming in I think
he probably thinks I’m the smelly one
look at these pigs snuffling in the
ground doing what pigs were designed to
do that’s why for me it just has to be
free-range knowing that it comes from
happy contented animals like these one
of which is literally trying to rip the
feed back out from under my bottom don’t
do that
steady on
