How To – prepare asparagus, with Jamie Oliver’s mate Pete


I’m going to show you a simple way to
practice para guess take your spear
that’s the good end the nice juicy tip
and there’s good eating all the way down
the stock but when you get to the end
there’s a nasty hard woody bit you need
to get rid of so the trick is to find
the right place where the good eating
stops and the woody bit starts and what
you do is hold the bottom firmly in this
hand
and you bend top round like that and it
snaps in exactly the right place this
bit closing bin this bit is all lovely
and can beat the whole thing to meet you
can chop it you can dice it you can cook
it like that whatever you like so again
take the bottom firmly in your right
hand and bend it around and it snaps now
the spears won’t be the same length but
you know you got there you’ve got full
good eating out of both
you
