down our picks for the top five games
whose Metacritic scores are just way too
high
before we begin we publish new videos

be looking at five videogames that don’t
necessarily deserve the high praise
well not saying these games are bad
though they earned those high scores for
a reason rather we’re just saying that
Metacritic scores are perhaps a little
too high
given their numerous shortcomings and
flaws the uprising has begun
but who will lead the revolution number
five feeble three after the success that
was fable to fan expectations were
extremely high for the series third
installment while it was a perfectly
serviceable experience many gamers think
that the games ad Metacritic score is
just a bit too high critics enjoyed the
game for its storytelling humour and
world building but criticized its lack
of innovation gamers on the other hand
but moaned the changes that the game
made particularly the various reduced
and simplified gameplay mechanics like
the new combat system while 80 certainly
isn’t a great score it’s a little too
high for a game that hardly anyone
speaks favorably about anymore number 4
Batman Arkham Knight
even ignoring the disastrous PC launched
the ps4 versions 87 is way too high for
this otherwise recycled and predictable
experience no get us wrong Arkham Knight
is still a pretty darn good game it’s
exceptionally produced the world is the
best Gotham we’ve ever seen and the
combat and gameplay mechanics are as
good as they’ve ever been but therein
lies the problem at this point the
Arkham template was starting to wear
real thin and when you combined tired
mechanics with a derivative story and
over Alliance on the not that great to
begin with Batmobile or bat tank the
game becomes a bit of a chore to get
through we think the user is 7.7 score
is a lot more reliable here at least
someone in this place is looking out for
us thanks number 3 call of duty modern
warfare 3 the Call of Duty series has
always seen a bit of a gap between
critical and user scores critics
technically have to credit the games for
their production value and reliable
mechanics while gamers kind of like to
review bomb all the releases and say
that their Satan so we don’t think that
88 is a really good representation of
the game’s quality but you know neither
is the abysmal 3.4 there’s no denying
that modern warfare 3 is a perfectly
competent game with a kick-ass campaign
but the predictability of the gameplay
and a few questionable mechanics like
the lag compensation and revenge
spawning certainly hindered the
experience it’s a fine title but 88 come
on no way
number two Dragon Age to you and I don’t
always see eye to eye but that doesn’t
mean you deserve my anger I owe you an
apology
like people three Dragon Age 2 had a lot
to live up to unfortunately it just
couldn’t stick the landing
although you certainly wouldn’t know
what by looking at the critic reviews
the 82 score suggests a pretty darn good
game and while many critics admitted
that it had various flaws they still
called it an expansive and exciting RPG
gamers on the other hand were not so
enthusiastic many fans criticized the
simplification of the game including the
lame environments the lack of agency and
the story’s outcome and the dialogue and
combat systems it’s fine for casual RPG
players but it’s a disgrace to the
Dragon Age name and it’s 82 score is
nowhere near deserved so that’s it
that’s the whole story
number one grand theft auto or we are
all looking for that special summer ok
we can understand how grand theft auto 4
has a score of 98 the story was great
and most importantly it changed the
gaming landscape with its open-world
design what paved the way for modern
open-world titles
that’s not true the story was basically
film caliber and it’s version of totally
not new york city was one of the best
we’ve ever seen that said a 98 with
nearly 50 perfect scores it’s not that
good even upon release this game was
criticized for someone boring missions
it’s heavy driving physics bland and
kind of fuzzy graphics and the annoying
friendship system among other things
it’s a fantastic game and definitely a
classic but we’d stopped short of
calling it the second best video game of
all time as metacritic would have you
believe survive
