Ubisoft and the Film Industry

hello again everyone this is Chris with
watchmojo.com now a moment ago I had the
pleasure speaking to Cedric here at
Ubisoft and he discussed some of the
details behind you Vsauce recent
acquisition of a company hybrid and what
some of those moves mean towards Ubisoft
and the film industry let’s have a
listen hybrid technology has been in the
industry for over 17 years they worked
on 300 since City and most recently
Journey to the Center of the Earth what
is it that these guys bring to Ubisoft
that you guys you know sought after them
what is it that they that they was
appealing about them to you if you guys
remember well last year in 2007 we
announced that Ubisoft wanted to get
more involved in the movie industry with
the next generation of consoles that
we’re going to see with the visuals the
quality of the visuals that we’re going
to have we’re getting closer and closer
to the visual quality of the movies and
we strongly believe that we have to
learn and we can learn from the movie
industry to do better graphics better
games better visuals and at the same
time we are the owners of very very
strong IPS when we’re talking about
Splinter Cell we’re talking about
assassins creed and we want to be in
total control of what we do with these
Eyed Peas and we want to create values
with these IPS we want to be involved in
in the process of bringing these IDs to
the movie industry so now that you guys
have made this acquisition what from a
game or from my standpoint what can I
expect to see from Ubisoft you’re going
to see because of that move Ubisoft
games that are already ready for the
next generations of consoles in terms of
visuals and qualities we’re going to be
working with people that have been
working with very very very high
standard in terms of graphics for a long
time this will have an impact really on
the middle term end of 2009 probably
early 2010 having games that really take
it very very strong step towards visual
qualities that is better and not only
about visual qualities but also about
lighting animation even storytelling we
can learn from all of these people so
again I want to thank you very very much
for joining us and we really do look
forward to to what you guys have
