just outside Quebec City Linda Lea
little darlin otherwise known as Orleans
Island is located in the st. Lawrence
River roughly 12 miles east of downtown
Quebec City the island was once called
LD Becca’s by French explorer Chelsea
because of the wealth of wild grapes
growing on the island Orleans Island is
about 21 miles long and five miles wide
despite its small population many French
Canadians can trace their ancestry back
to this island the island houses more
than 600 buildings which are recognized
as historically and culturally
significant the island is also home to
various farms and is famous locally for
its fresh produce access to the island
is gained by the ear domain bridge
locally referred to as the fold it is if
it’s a slice of old Quebec that you’re
craving Orleans Island is the place to
