hi I’m Rebecca Braden and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’ll be taking
a look at a few historical points of
interest not to miss while visiting
Luxembourg the entire city of Luxembourg
was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site
thanks to the area’s historic
fortifications referred to as the
Gibraltar of the north the fortress was
built around the BOK promontory in 963
but was raised in the 19th century
leaving ruins what remains is an
important historical site for both
visitors and locals the landscape of the
country is dotted with castles and these
romantic structures are striking
additions to the scenery these castles
often sit atop hills as magnificent
landmarks and some offer guided tours
the grand ducal palace of Luxembourg is
the official home of the country’s Grand
Duke and is often the location of
official receptions with the country’s
history evident at every turn it is no
wonder Luxembourg continues to attract
visitors thirsty for knowledge of the
past
