for this list we’ll be taking a look at
conclusions in video games that blew our
minds by just how bad they were we’ll be
taking into account previous lists we’ve
done as well as some new modern
contenders who more than proved that the
trend of anticlimactic endings is still
alive and well please note that we’re
not calling the games themselves awful
it’s just their conclusions that left a
lot to be desired
as you might expect be on the lookout

you’re late again right number 10
outlast
considered to be one of the best
survival horror games in recent years
players were left cowering in fear as
they frantically tried to survive
against the inhabitants of Mount massive
asylum from its controlled atmosphere
peace and of course unforgettable
antagonists Chris Walker and dr. Trager
outlast
seemed like the whole package so what
went wrong well after finally taking
down Project walrider it looks like our
poor protagonist miles is home free only
to be shot down by the military who have
conveniently stormed the place this just
seemed to cheapen the whole experience
though it was thankfully remedied by
equally thrilling DLC whistleblower
[Applause]

number nine borderlands I’ve warned you
time and again
yet you pestis ton ignoring my orders
hunting down vault cutting across
Pandora and interacting with some truly
memorable villains like handsome Jack
yeah that basically all came in the
sequel actually the first game on the
other hand wasn’t quite as polished
evidenced by the final boss against the
destroyer which in and of itself was not
really a great challenge going down
after layering it with bullets your
planetary escapade comes to an end with
nothing more than a verbal pat on the
back from the guardian angel to show for
it um thanks I guess you did it well and
your actions haven’t gone unrewarded
now break to CeeLo to make a girl a cop
if you know you can’t keep it taking AB
armed diseases a master chief or the
arbiter one of the experience that many
gamers still look back on with you man’s
fondness with so much world building and
endless hours shooting we were expecting
a finale that was nothing short of
explosive then what do we get just as it
looks like we were in for the Battle of
a lifetime we got one of the biggest
cliffhanger endings ever period that she
may have promised to finish the fight
but the rest of us were ready for Advent
and there
sorry chomps got to buy the new console
in a few years if you want to play it
masterji
am I telling me what you’re doing on
that ship sir finishing this fight
number seven Mass Effect 3 I
underestimated you ship
to be clear we’re not talking about the
extended cut that fix most of the plot
holes no we’re talking about the massive
light show that concluded Shepherds
fight against the Reapers and less
people demanding that extended cut after
finally activating the crucible the
player is presented with three choices
destroy control or sympathy
while these morally contrasting opinions
might seem like a good idea at first the
execution with what disappointed mass
effect then all you get to really see is
shepard biting the dust the galaxy light
up for one of three colors and that’s
about it
hey at least the extended endings gave
us a bit more closure number six monkey
island to a Chuck’s revenge no no that’s
not true
that’s impossible is it time for
Guybrush Threepwood to take down his
pirate nemesis yet again in a showdown
that future generations will sing about
surely the sequel to a much beloved game
would not pull an absolute cop-out that
would undermine the character’s story
and all the effort put in by the player
right well it does as during the final
battle with Chuck is revealed to be a
child before we even have time to
register this you see that the entire
game was a fantasy thought up by two
children man talk about pulling the rug
out from under our feet and ruining the
immersion your mother and I were very
concerned
thank you for hunting down your brother
like we asked Chuckie deer number fine
ghosts and goblins
infamous for its unreasonable difficulty
spikes the perilous quest of Sir Arthur
to save his princess from Satan left
many gamers pulling their hair out
gameplay wise this was not only from the
neverending waves of overs demons Agins
and other monsters but also from the
fact that it only takes two hits to kill
Arthur and then there’s the ending after
overcoming the Lord of hell you’re told
that the whole thing was an illusion and
if you want the happy endings you have
to play through the whole damn thing
again on a higher difficulty yep
all of that controller session you went
through was insane number 4 Star Wars
nights to deal with Republic to that
fifth Lord coming off of the heels of
the tribe that was Knights of the Old
Republic the sequel certainly had a lot
to live up to while there were plenty of
lightsabers and a choice to embrace use
of the dark side or the light the ending
suddenly came out of nowhere after
defeating Darth triumphs were rewarded
with a long-winded narration of the
decisions we made and what’s going to
happen in the future and then that’s it
Antonin justified the community you
saved shall be the foundation upon which
Dantooine shall be happy to pull again
this rather abrupt ending was due to the
fact that Lucas arts rushed the game out
the door to have it ready in time for
Christmas leaving fans and modders
trying to reconstruct the planned
content that ended up being scrapped

number three Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of
Liberty Oh am I really no one quite
knows who or what they are
the phantom pain also had similar issues
mostly due to Konami interference and
editing a final product however as much
as we adore it as a game and as an entry
in the mgs universe ride in solo mission
did not exactly end on a high note by
this point we faced off against dead
cell Brandon they get through the
hallways sliced up countless terrorists
with a sword and bested the likes of
Solid Snake only to be left with an
ending that thoroughly confused us
Arsenal here the Patriots all the creepy
codec messages without the benefit of
hindsight and later sequels we were left
scratching our heads with this one heck
they didn’t even make wiki snack then
they’re already dead all 12 of them when
did it happen well about a hundred years
ago now what you Nigel ghost warrior
we need you to clear the area mark on
your GPS over got that mother too on our
way we weren’t under any illusions at
the ending of this game was probably
going to involve some kind of epic
sniper shot so we were at least hoping
for something added on like a cutscene
or an extra piece of dialogue anything
to make it seem like a coherent
conclusion you know anything but an
instant cut to black
we’re not even joking here one pulls the
trigger and the game decides to just
call it quit there’s leaving the player
unsatisfied and then there’s just
slapping him in the face
you
before we reveal our number one pick
here a few dishonorable mention

we put out with time solarath will never
again and then will never have to worry
about the flames of disaster right
number one no man’s sky while other
games on this list might have had
disappointing or in some cases just
plain awful conclusions they at least
concluded the same cannot be said of no
man’s sky after managing to venture all
the way to the center of the galaxy in
the vain hopes that all the hours you
spent crafting and mining your way
through similar looking planets would be
worth it you are greeted with your final
reward absolutely all all those hours of
traveling all the hype building up the
mystery of what’s at the center all of
that work upgrading to different ships
all of it for nothing gone boom now do
it again
