just because they make beautiful music
together does not mean they never fight
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re
counting down our picks for the top 10
in band feuds attack mated kicked in the
chest I just flew into the ground for
this list we’re focusing on the
rivalries fights and grudges that occur
between members of a band we’ve excluded
fights between different bands because
that’s a list for another day
number ten NWA easy as its name and the
boys coming by that a cop dr. Dre and
eazy-e were members of NWA one of the
most influential and pioneering rap
groups ever but eventually as is often
the case money and contractual
disagreements got in the way
before long the band members went their
separate ways with the battle spilling
onto their records Dre released grade a
while ez replied with real content jeez
by the time easy succumb to AIDS it all
seemed too petty easy I’ll deal with you
leave nigga miss you with that just
being real with number nine the kinks
your really got me going it got nice I
don’t know what I’m going
at the kinks core were two brothers who
had a history of fighting since they
were boys yes there’s always rivalry
tension between people and related but
that that sometimes helps music no ray
and Dave Davies spent several decades
clashing in the band they managed to
tough things out until 1996 however
differences in artistic vision lack of
mainstream recognition and an unpleasant
birthday party incident eventually
contributed to the group’s demise I
don’t hate you more than I hate anybody
else or less number 8 Creedence
Clearwater Revival
thanks to their southern rock inspired
sound ccr became huge in the late 1960s
ro
but soon all their intense studio work
and extensive touring began to take its
toll it certainly didn’t help matters
that frontman John Fogerty decided to
make all the band’s creative and
business decisions
his brother Tom soon quit and things
went even more downhill a disastrous
final album led to increased tensions
and their breakup in 1972
number seven the Eagles
for the Eagles tour exhaustion health
problems and more contributed to the
fallout known as long night at wrong
beach
you
it was at that show in Long Beach that
Glenn Frey and Don Felder threatened
each other with physical harm three more
songs asshole you know what I’m looking
at man I am ready to go I can’t wait to
get my hands on him when we get off the
stage I’m gonna kick your ass
things got so bad that Frey and Don
Henley completed their live album in
different parts of the US a long hiatus
Felder’s dismissal and lawsuits Wallace
number six the Beach Boys
so it’s Brian Wilson who initially
reigned over the Beach Boys sound and
song writing his personal issues and
health problems got in the way Brian had
a nervous breakdown and quit touring he
descended into years of drug addiction
alcoholism obesity and mental illness
the members were able to contribute more
but soon found themselves fighting over
money and the use of the Beach Boys name
despite a new album and 50th anniversary
reunion tour in 2012 Mike Love and
Wilson have no further plans to work
together
number five Van Halen
thanks to an unstable lineup of lead
singers Van Halen’s stirred up a hell of
a lot of controversy during their heyday
though they rose to fame with David Lee
Roth the singer just couldn’t get along
with Eddie Van Halen and though a change
of style was accompanied by a change of
frontman with Sammy Hagar the band
briefly reunited with rock their
problems continues following a
commercially disappointing stint with
extremes gary cherone
and separate reunions with hagar and raw
which succeeded to varying degrees
number four Pink Floyd ever though Syd
Barrett had already left by the late 60s
his worsening health further strained
relations between band mates
things got even more tense when Pink
Floyd realized Roger Waters essentially
wrote and composed all of the final cut
his subsequent departure and solo career
was followed by legal issues concerning
david gilmour and the remaining members
of the band touring under the Pink Floyd
name
No
we’re knows by the ecology
number three the Beatles
despite finding a creative high in the
late 60s the Beatles found the pressures
of Fame and touring too much to handle
come on squeeze conquer places like
North America and stuff like that I
think we began to feel that we’ve done
it and that all we were now gonna go
into is just do it twice and so it was a
mix of internal conflicts financial
issues and John Lennon’s romantic
fixation with Yoko Ono it ultimately
culminated in Paul McCartney’s departure
before their last album was released
lenin even went so far as to take things
out in song as a solo artist
number two
oasis
while they’ve made headlines for feuding
with other bands I think when this
battle started when both band decided to
release single in the same day it was
deadly rival II it’s noir and Liam
Gallagher’s sibling rivalry that’s to
blame for the demise of Oasis
as is common between brothers the
Gallagher’s had their share of
differences but this was nothing
compared to their violent disagreements
and bad behavior in the band it’s a real
unnecessary violent acts and he’s
swinging this guitar around and he kind
of you know he did he took my face off
with it you know in 2009 enough was
enough
after a canceled Paris gig Oasis
announced their end and the brothers
formed other bands
number one Guns N’Roses
how are things with Axl Rose no we
haven’t really spoke because of Axl
Rose’s big mouth he’s often in the
spotlight for feuds with other bands but
the loud and obnoxious frontman is also
notorious for all the Guns and Roses
infighting Gunn’s frontman Axl Rose
abruptly ended his band set with some
ominous comments about the band’s future
though he did spend some time as a
hermit
it’s his public trashing a former
guitarist Slash that we’ll never forget
it’s a it’s it’s a lot of a lot of
attention put on a lot of negative stuff
and granted the negative stuff existed
and might still exist or whatever and
the fact that he still tours as GNR
despite being the band’s only remaining
original member
