with the design inspired by Master Chief
from Halo you can be sure this product
will turn gamers heads hey welcome to
watchmojo.com i’m your host Derek and
today we’re looking at the Sidewinder
family and more specifically the
sidewinder x8 mouse can you first take
us through some of the history of the
Sidewinder family basically wanted to
create a line of gaming products that’s
dedicated to hardcore gamers we got the
keyboard it’s quite revolutionary within
the gaming industry LED lighting in the
background a whole bunch of macro
buttons that you can pre-program and
depending on what kind of games you
enjoy there’s three different profiles
that you can preset how much does using
this change the experience for gamer you
know what this really just allows you to
customize it however you choose so I
couldn’t quantify how much is going to
change your gaming experience but I’ll
give you a simple example we’ve done a
lot of research and one of the pain
points that gamers have it’s the fact
that you gain with your left hand on the
keyboard and then you got your right
hand on the mouse and that’s one of the
key reasons why we decided to make this
keypad switchable to the left hand side
because now your boundaries are endless
so aside from keyboard the next key
thing for the gamer is obviously the
mouse the beautiful thing about this one
here which we’re launching in February
of 2009’s the fact that it’s wireless
you’ve got a magnetic recharger so that
guess what if you need a quick boost of
power slip it in and all of a sudden
you’re right back at gaming we announced
bluetrack technologies a new tracking
technology that we developed this menu
blue track technology allows you to
track on virtually any surface it’s well
balanced and wait it’s got again five
programmable buttons has got quick dpi
switching with LCD display up to 4,000
dpi what that really allows you to do is
depending on how sensitive you would
like your mouse to track this really
allows you to customize that
your own personal liking and ultimately
what does it mean it gives you a vantage
as a gamer with the leaves in terms of
technology when it comes to Damien in
the past few years has it been difficult
to continue to improve these sort of
products for gamers it’s been
challenging I’ll say the least I think
with all the new games coming out with
the new level of interactions that
consumers and gamer expect I think it
makes us business very exciting for the
Sidewinder family to continuously look
for ways to enhance how the gamer
relates back to the game terrific thank
you very much great thank you
