hi this is Chris with watchmojo.com
today I’m joined with john who works for
yamaha and he’s going to show us
something that I’ve heard a bit about
but really it’s one of those things that
I think really has to be experienced to
be fully understood but John’s gonna do
is best to get the idea across what am I
blabbing about right now you’re Bradley
your kind of blabbing about another
solution for home theater really I mean
conventionally we all hear about
surround sound you have to have five
speakers a subwoofer and all this wiring
throughout the room what we’ve developed
is a digital sound projector that you
can actually have complete surround
sound from only one component designed
to go with a flat panel television you
can mount the ysp on the wall you can
put it on a stand and eliminates having
to have all those extra speakers and all
that extra wiring within the room really
so so simply put it’s the entire effect
of a 5.1 surround sound audio system
condensed into one single speaker and
and so how exactly does the speaker
achieve that effect well each ysp over
here has built-in amplifiers the small
one for instance has 23 small speakers
the large one has 42 small speakers and
each of those speakers has their own
amplifier so with having all of those
different speaker drivers in there we
can create five precise accurate beams
of sound to reflect sound off the side
and back walls to create full surround
sound with one component I guess the
room is very important than when you’re
sort of setting this up the room is
important typically a room that has side
walls and a back wall so you can get the
reflection off the side and back walls
that’s ideal but even an open-concept
situations this creates such a wide
dynamic front soundstage that with even
without walls it sounds very impressive
as well to the one thing I want to make
clear about it too is this is not
designed to replace a traditional audio
video system it’s designed to be another
solution for the type of consumer that
does not want to have all of that
clutter in the room I’m impressed thank
you very much thank you thank you very
