The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses – Tour Info, Demo

grab your ocarina and play along hi I’m
Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’ll be going
behind the scenes of The Legend of Zelda
symphony of the goddesses
so tell us about symphony of the
goddesses simply the goddesses is a for
movement symphony written under the
direction of Koji Kondo of Nintendo by
Chad cider our music director is it’s
kind of a story of The Legend of Zelda
told the way that we want to be done in
a live environment with sound we have
the full narrative of the series and so
we get to really explore and dive into
the story of Zelda and give it give it
to you in a very nostalgic and an
enjoyable way we have a 66 piece
Orchestra a 24 voice choir we have a
huge visual element which is a huge
screen as you can see behind us it is
formatted like a classical concert so we
start off with a big overture then we go
into some interludes which are kind of
one-offs and then we dive into the
actual symphony itself which is a for
movement symphony precluded by a prelude
so the symphony itself it’s the first of
its kind for a video game concert to
have something in four movements like
this which makes it really special
what games does the story follow it
follows pretty much everything except
for Skyward Sword the latest installment
of the legend of zelda each movement
highlights one of the major temple
titles one of the anchoring titles in
the series we start off with ocarina of
time then we go into the wind waker
followed by twilight princess and then
we finish with a link to the past and so
with each of those movements which are
about 10-12 minutes apiece we really
take you through the story and you get
to sort of relive all those moments of
victory and danger and excitement that
are you experienced while playing these
games now we’ve got this big screen
behind us how does multimedia plains of
show it’s pretty much the focus of the
show in terms of the visual focus
everything that the orchestra is
performing it’s all edited to the video
so the music is performed in sync with
the video every cue everything is in
sync and it’s all again it solid live so
in a way it’s like a music video we’ve
gone in and put the story on top of the
music so that you’re you’re actually
you’re actually seeing it like a movie
what is it about the story of Link and
Zelda that has been so enduring what
happens is the story and the game itself
and the struggles that you go through it
comes very personal and and these
experiences become your own you follow
the characters you grow with the
characters and you grow with the story
and this is definitely one game that’s
enabled people to do that with the show
it’s allowing a lot of disparate fans
who really have grown up just like me
with this with this franchise to come
together and share that energy it really
ends up being like a giant family
reunion which is it which is interesting
and interesting dynamic but something
really special
