Sugar Cookies – A Holiday Treat!


these are a great basic cookie and are
particularly popular around Christmas
time hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome
to watchmojo.com and today we’ll be
baking rolled sugar cookies for this
recipe will need a cup and a half of
softened butter 2 cups of sugar 4 eggs 1
teaspoon of vanilla extract five cups of
all-purpose flour two teaspoons of
baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt in
a large bowl cream together the butter
and sugar until smooth
now beat in the eggs and vanilla stir in
the flour baking powder and salt wrap
the dough in saran wrap and then leave
it to chill for at least an hour or
overnight
preheat the oven to 400 degrees roll out
your dough on a floured surface till
it’s about a quarter to a half an inch
thick a tip here is to roll your dough
out directly onto some parchment paper
you’ve cut to fit your baking sheet that
way when you cut out your cookies you
don’t have to worry about ruining their
shape while you transfer them now that
your dough is rolled out cut out the
shapes with the cookie cutter place your
cookies about an inch apart on ungreased
baking sheets as you know we’re using
parchment paper to make sure that our
cookies don’t stick if you’re decorating
your cookies with colored sugar you’re
going to want to do that before they go
in the oven now bake for six to eight
minutes in your preheated oven let them
cool completely on wire racks these
cookies are great plain or decorated
with sure or you could bring them to
life with icing anyway you serve them
they’re delicious
