Echo’s design philosophy embraces

be taking a look at this Scandinavian
brand what was the concept behind the
development of the echo brand echo began
over 40 years ago in Denmark and
actually the founder really wanted to
build a company that produce shoes that
fit the foot not the other way around
now echo manufactures its leather
in-house and it ends up in other places
such as airplane seats and bags etc why
does the company find it important not
to outsource this process we want to
make sure we control all the process to
make sure that the product is the best
quality as possible and owning our own
leather tanneries we’ve just become
experts in leather we’re really one of
the biggest leather producers in the
world
echo uses something called the direct
injection technology can you tell us
what this is and what its purpose is we
use a material called poly urethane it’s
the same thing as a roller plate and we
inject it into a mold in a liquid form
and it forms a bond to feed leather
upper so you’re not getting any gluing
or stitching that could come off and it
really makes for a light comfortable
flexible shoe that can take you from day
to night can you tell us about the
companies green approach there’s a lot
of natural waste material during tanning
and we’ve been able to recycle that
material it’s called tallow and turn it
into biofuel and what that’s done is to
help reduce our carbon emissions at our
tanning facility by 50% now can you show
us some of your staple shoes yes of
course this is our injection sole so
it’s extremely light very flexible comes
in a lot of great fun colors red bright
purple and this is a really great way to
have a fun casual shoe that will feel
great right out of the box what we have
here is the echo gisborne and this is
something that probably people don’t
know us for but you get a great looking
pump it’s a very fashionable t-strap
style but with all the echo comfort
features so a lot of cushioning in the
forefoot all leather lining and again
great flexibility echo has a fantastic
line of golf shoes for both men and
women what I have here is a new style
for men called the echo ultra
performance is a very technical product
it gives you performance on the green
but also incredible comfort features you
can walk the 18 hole
with no problem and it’s just such a
really cool looking shoe as well we also
make a great line of sport performance
shoes from hiking shoes to sandals and
what I have right here is called the
echo lobato and it’s a great water shoe
it’s very moisture wicking great outsole
for traction and comes in a sporty cool
