Meet Never Shout Never a.k.a. Christofer Drew Ingle

alternative press has already named him
one of the top 100 bands you need to
know hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome
to watchmojo.com we were at Warped Tour
this year when you spoke with
nevershoutnever before they would go and
give it away but don’t say that I don’t
know you let’s have you start by kind of
giving us an idea of your background and
how you came to choose music as your
path you know I was about 14 years old
my dad my dad wanted me to you know do
something other than playing tennis
that’s what I did growing up like until
about 14 and then so he showed me some
Bob Dylan tapes and sometimes stuff that
he grew up like and you know acoustic
stuff and I got really into it I didn’t
quite understand it yet but I just kept
writing songs you know I got into some
of their like the emo kind of stuff
eventually I just started playing music
full-time and just loved it
Oh sounds like you have kind of eclectic
influences I can we go into that a bit
more I love like 60s in the 70s I try to
take a lot from that because it was such
a pure form of music there was still
just like this honesty and luckily RIT
still see that don’t know you I have to
take from like later influence to like
Weiser third I’ve wine and just like
stuff with a good rhythm and good beat
tell me how you think your music has
progressed since you started out
actually really started getting the
music I started making beats on my
laptop and I was really fun to see good
options were endless you know you can
take any instrument and just like put
them together for fun so I sing rain
rain go away come again another day when
I say it’s a little pain then I started
really getting a new acoustic stuff I’ve
got a band like it just my best friends
and you know we just jam out and just
kind of play whatever we feel like now
you know we don’t really try to stick to
a formula or anything like that we’re
just trying to grow as musicians and try
out new styles and things minutes into
weeks as a been what is the writing
process like or do you still do most of
the writing you know I’ll get the songs
all mapped out and kind of get a feel
for what the instruments I want you know
and then my guitar player Caleb will you
know help with instruments that I don’t
really know how to play you just kind of
mix it up I get like the outline and
then he helps me like fill in the blanks
weeks do you have like a musical goal
you know something that you’re trying to
achieve when you when you rate your
music I guess just have fun you know
it’s just something to do it’s something
to fill in a life you know I mean get my
life some kind of purpose just gonna
keep writing and so if I get better at
it and hope I can learn more instruments
and eventually become you know the best
song or I can be I guess
the three text messages for miss cause
you still my best friend
