designers Donald J Pliner who’s going to
tell us how he has done a perfect mix of
non charity work with high-end fashion
you’ve committed your whole life you
know to creating and building an
offering to of the perfect shoe what has
been the key to success I think because
I travel so much I’m aware of the fact
about the discomforts about traveling
and about the discomforts about being in
fashion and not being comfortable
yourself I relate to a couple of things
one is the fact i’m sure you’ve been in
a plane and someone takes off their
shoes and you wish they wouldn’t and
then of course what i’ve done is take
high passionate I used to be in retail
for 17 years in Beverly Hills and I have
probably the most expensive ladies and
men’s shoe stores in America at that
time and now I’m taking a whole idea of
high fashion and quality but combining
it into our comfort level we’ve seen a
lot of peace signs and everything
because you’re working for a piece for
the children’s foundation can you you
know walk us through the whole process
of you becoming involved with that
foundation what does it mean and
everything my wife and I we ended up
going to Casa Stan old Russia and we
adopted our child star and when we left
the orphanage and when you see all the
children that never will be adopted in
all the devastation the killing that’s
going on in the world
my wife and I decided to start a
foundation so that anything that has
like a peace sign on it it could be a
piece ornamentation I could be a peace
t-shirt it could be able to solo the
shoe as a company Donald Pliner will
donate two dollars and fifty cents to
the foundation oh thank you so much for
sharing all of this with us you know
we’re gonna stay tuned to see everything
that’s coming and we’re going to take a
look at the new collection which I see
that you use in a lot of different
materials very rich colors and textures
and I’m looking forward to seeing and
frightened than month well all of Falls
really especially the sports about
texture it’s about the vintage alligator
colors like we’re doing like the dark
greens the blues and navy sort of very
old vintage like hermes and gucci and
actually amazingly to come from the 30s
lots of different types of distress hair
caps but it’s about richness and about
feeling very central feeling very
luxurious about yourself the men or for
women
