hi everyone my name is adam ak DJ mana
from microtome kitchen ICM records a lot
of experience in mixing and battle DJ so
today I’ll run you through certain
basics of turntablism namely two things
in mixing and scratch this will start
off with the mixing first what I’m using
here is two turntables a mixer in a
system called Saradha what it is is
pretty much like a real vinyl you
control it with these final controllers
okay the music is actually coming from
the mp3 it’ll work totally new system
back in the day we just mixed with vinyl
ok like so we didn’t have this computer
screen here so what what we do normally
do is I would actually have in the
headphones the next I’ll come in and I
would try to find the speed of the next
song the point of mixing is to play two
tracks at the same time so you can make
transitions from one song to the other
so what I’m doing with this one song is
I’m going to play start with a song on
this truck side when you match two songs
play two songs at the same time you want
to match the beat
so the way you do that is you can play
with the speed of the turntable which is
on this single the pitch control slide
you notice how it is faster diploma is
it not not all songs are recorded the
same speed so I would choose songs that
are round the same tempo and I’m trying
to match it and fine-tune it so that it
matches the speed and so next I’m going
to introduce on this side introduce it
on the right Pete
just Commission on Steve those crews are
playing at the same time right now
y’all mythologically
