old brand started back in the retro
period of the Art Deco period actually a
thirties father and son dad built the
engines and well built the bodies and
they built about a thousand cars during
that period and they stopped building it
mercedes-benz owned the name and the
rights to it Rebecca and they decided to
resurrect it in 2002 how does din maybeh
compared to the Mercedes you know we use
a lot of the same methods everything’s
done by hand a lot of the old world
traditions are still in place you can
see the wood is the grandpa leather
which they used to use back then it’s
the finest of everything leatherwood
carpeting and obviously the aluminum
body on the car swap what you’re looking
at here is a 2009 maybach 57 s pen built
by our other company AMG this has got 20
inch rims a little bit stiffer
suspension a little bit sporty arrived a
little lower to the ground with a more
aggressive looking indefinitely owner
driven so what is unique about this
engine if you look at the motor this
twin turbo 6-liter v12 it’s signed by
the technician who actually built the
motor in our headquarters of AMG in
Germany and we have the philosophy of
one man one engine all he does is built
these be 12 engine what you’re looking
at here is a 20-inch rim and what they
do is they take a standard alloy wheel
and put it if you like in a big dryer
machine and they tumble it for 24 hours
what comes out is a highly polished
stainless steel looking rim now I
noticed that there’s a panel on the roof
that is a solar module and what it does
is is when you leave the vehicle it
takes the sun’s energy and harnesses it
and it powers the solar powered cabin
fans so it keeps the car cool without
using the car’s battery you know when we
built my box when we started to build it
we thought of it as the ultimate
business command post your mobile office
on the road if you will so you have all
the electronics you can plug in your
computer’s you have lots of phone
capability Bluetooth technology all that
kind of a thing you can watch radio CD
TV DVD and play your own movies
everybody gets headphones on the back so
the kids can watch their stuff you can
do your business stuff and all of the
audio visual entertainment is contained
in the center
stack also big benefit for our Maybach
owners is they get to champagne flutes
made of sterling silver you keep your
champagne coal in the center console we
supply the silver goblets don’t use
glass because it might break and cause
the safety well so it’s not just for
business business pleasure does
