LCD vs. Plasma

in terms of the technologies between
let’s say plasma versus LCD because I
know that’s a question that a lot of
people tend to have I mean in terms of
pros and cons tu in the practical sense
do they really matter or what sort of
things do you think a consumer should be
mindful if they try to make that
decision there’s only a few issues the
first thing to understand is they’re
both good technologies plasmas excellent
it’s great for fast motion it’s got a
little bit faster response time than LCD
on jus LCD is catching up with that
there’s different technologies that are
coming out like LED LCD that are gonna
eliminate those issues however plasma if
you put it in a really bright room where
there’s gonna be a lot of bay windows
you’re gonna have a ton of glare it’s a
glass surface no matter what you do
we’ve got a filter bright system to help
eliminate some of that glare and
maintain contrast there’s still gonna be
glare it’s glass light reflects off of
last no matter what you do LCDs plastic
there’s no glare on it we’ve got a big
light flashing on these screens you can
hardly see any reflection on the screen
itself so if you’ve got a bright room
LCDs definitely the technology to go
with you got more size flexibility with
LCD you can go down to a smaller size so
if you’ve got a limited space it’s a
little bit better takes up a little bit
less power so if you’re environmentally
friendly that’s a good technology to go
with the smaller sizes offer you a
higher resolution with LCDs and plasma
does you know last year we had 1080p
LCDs we didn’t have plasmas this year
plasmas are now launching in 1080p but
50-inch and above only so it’s not
available in a 40 inch and a 46 inch
like it is an LCD and then it comes down
to the style of picture LCD is a
smoother picture so anaplasma is a
sharper picture so somebody who is
typically used to watching a picture
tube and is now converting to a flat
screen will typically like the picture
of a plasma because it’s a similar style
it’s a phosphor based picture it’s what
they’re used to seeing so they’ll be
comfortable watching that if somebody
had an old big screen those big heavy
clunking things they had a softer
smoother picture that’s more than that
the style of image you’re gonna get with
an LCD so they’re gonna be more apt to
go towards an LCD panel as opposed to a
plasma
