Israel’s Dead Sea

this is the lowest location on the globe
hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’ll be
learning more about the Dead Sea located
between Jordan and Israel the Dead Sea
is the lowest body of water and in fact
the lowest elevation in the world this
salt lake lies about thirteen hundred
and twelve feet or four hundred meters
below sea level the Dead Sea has figured
in biblical history since the time of
Abraham the Dead Sea is actually found
in a desert where there is little and
inconsistent rainfall and fairly sunny
skies year-round what is perhaps most
remarkable about the Dead Sea is it’s
notable salt levels the waters are
extremely saline and in fact the Dead
Sea is considered one of the world’s
saltiest bodies of water because of this
the water has a high density which
allows bathers to float this is why you
might see a number of swimmers floating
leisurely in the Dead Sea while reading
a magazine or newspaper the famous black
mud from the Dead Sea apparently leaves
the skin glowing
