Interview with These Kids Wear Crowns

these kids are the next big thing on the
electro pop punk scene hi I’m Rebecca
Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and
today we’re speaking with these kids
wear crowns tell us about the music that
you guys listen to growing up jock jams
vol 1 and 3 vol 2 sucked so I think we
all started off listening to like pop
punk and stuff like that when I grew up
I was listing doll-like MxPx blink 182
just like that so I think we all kind of
taken back sunday it wasn’t like we
didn’t go to shows when we were the kids
age the Godar shows we were the most
super fans of all super fans for the
bands we like
so jumpstart is the album tell us about
the album and you know what you guys
were going for when you wrote it our
first almost really like basic down pop
rock music kind of thing right and we
wanted to add more dance to it and we
wanted to add more instrumental parts to
that we had a little more to them it’s
pretty much exactly what we wanted it to
be with like the dance the rock
everything
tell us about how the album is
translating live and what we can expect
from a live show from you guys we
haven’t played it yet we’ve always been
kind of the band that’s like that let’s
do a 30-minute set and we’ll let’s give
it our all good oh so now we’re told to
do a 50 minutes said so we’ve all been
in the gym doing I’ve been working my
cardio desert island album so one thing
I listen to the most of anything is this
young fellow named jamie t he’s from UK
but that’s right now like the last week
or two that’s what I’ve had to bring
gonna go ahead and say pick anything
from the tooth and nail section of the
record store golly I don’t know I
probably go with like a radiohead album
maybe the band’s I think probably cuz
it’s got a lot of everything and you
guys see this coming but devin townsend
album key
i think i read online somewhere that
somebody used to rap you guys
experimented with different genres that
we’re not playing a show here we’re
doing a cover of Beyonce and jay-z
empire state of mind alicia keys off
failed hot fail this disney record if
you listen to it there’s definitely some
rap influenced kind of style ver stuff
like more rhythmic than singing singing
I changed my answer Kanye West
discography is what I would take to the
desert island and yeah we all really
like Kanye a lot specially Alex who raps
and yeah I think you might feel a little
bit on the next record we need from
Radiohead to Konya it’s yeah wait a
stretch yeah is it though is it though
you know
thanks very much guys wrap
