though there are only two these Danish
indie musicians sure know how to rock hi
my name is Stephanie welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re speaking
with The Raveonettes
can you describe your sound to me for
someone who’s never heard it oh well yes
absolutely it’s a it’s a we play rock
and roll and we have a sort of like big
good sounding of guitarists sometimes
they’re a little bit surfy sometimes
they can be noisy sometimes they can be
anything in between and we have a lot of
sampled drums and break beats and stuff
like that comes from our hip-hop
influence and then we have two voices
and sometimes we harmonize and sometimes
we do unison and sometimes we just do
solo singing
how would you say that your music has
evolved over the years you guys have
been together for ten over ten years
right now I like to challenge ourselves
and try out new things we’re not scared
of sounding very different from the
previous album so yeah it’s just it’s we
go through different phases it’s just
whatever that moment in time what we’re
gravitating towards what we feel
inspired by so I think our albums
definitely do sound distinctively
different but I think there’s always a
certain Raveonettes flavor and sound to
it with the vocal harmonies with the
certain guitar sounds
can you talk to me a bit about your live
show what can we expect when we go see
you in concert with three people on
stage
Sharon plays both bass and guitar so
she’s busy and and I think that we play
you know stuff from all our albums we
usually play the stuff that we think
people want to hear and that we think is
fun to play so I think we put on a
really good show and then we’re not like
the biggest entertainers on stage
because it’s just not in our DNA but I
think that people will definitely get
something out of it which is just a lot
of really good songs and some vareity
‘real so I think it’s it’s quite an
experience I think that’s what I hear
people say it’s it’s quite something
can you tell me what you love most about
making music and what keeps you going we
like everything you know it’s it’s fun
to make albums obviously but it’s fun to
tour it’s fun to make people happy or
sad without music and some of the
business part of it can be a little bit
rough I think but I think you know a lot
of the creative stuff you know making
music videos and doing all that stuff is
it’s quite great when it uh when it
works out
