kachu power-pop anthems are what have
given these guys they’re quick rise to
fame hi my name is stephanie and welcome
to watchmojo.com today we’re speaking
with the band stereos
so I would like to know how did you guys
originally form it’s through the
Edmonton music scene basically just like
we’re all different bands and stuff and
those bands broke up and then dan and I
and Rob I should started writing
together before we even had a band and
just focus on what sound we wanted to
have and then after we had about 20
songs and put a band together with it so
kind of rest is history well speaking of
your sound it’s been described as many
different things due up R&B hip-hop pop
and rock how would you guys describe it
you think that’s it right there to be
honest that’s condensed a scream cry we
try not to put it all into one label
because you know if you limit yourself
then you can only go so far right let’s
pop music let’s pop music we’ll leave it
at that
so you guys were on the show to spend
and so we were wondering what is life
like basically being thrown in the
public eye like that of something else
like you never really realized what the
cameras in your face all the time after
a while you can’t get more comfortable
with and you kind of realize it’s just
whatever it’s the show so it’s all good
did you guys think being on disband was
actually an advantage or did it put
extra pressure on you guys it just put
us out there like we were banned from
Edinson I’ve never really had any
exposure and anything and then we got on
this show that’s being you know
broadcast nationally all over canvas so
there’s a huge advantage do you think it
was perhaps more pressure on you guys
now to perform as a band we don’t really
feel the pressure because Eddington’s
not really a city where you can get
ahead musically so we have to work that
much harder together like make ourselves
known you know outside of it so once we
go out to Toronto and we’re on the show
and everything they’re throwing these
challenges at us we were just ready for
that we were already kind of further
along because we had worked so hard
already
how is the dynamic I mean I heard that
you guys are living in the same house
how what is life like now it’s just
bigger now like we we all live in a
house together in in eddington as well
but now it’s like we do the band
full-time so it’s a what’s a lot more
fun that’s for sure keep them up shawty
I can’t get in labs yeah it’s like a
bunch of Portugal boys let on like
coming summer vacation holiday we like
yeah we’re and we’re not cool but we
have fun in the back legs so what are
the themes that are most important for
you guys to write about positivity you
know we just wanna have a good time our
themes are similar to the stuff we
listen to like it’s a lot yeah I mean
there’s a lot of Sun both girls just
like you said though it’s all about
having a good time and that’s it’s more
consciously not anything negative about
it because you know there’s a lot of
native music out there and you know it’s
not what we want to listen to none of
our favorite artists early about that
either so a lot of it has to do summer
as well not like completely but like you
know me and summer is always a good time
it’s a lot more fun in the winter and we
know that personally be clear from
Edinson where yet like a month of
the summer
thank you so much thank you come on
throw your hands off
