what it’s worth it’s been alone what is
the story of how your music got picked
up I was in a band and we were together
for about three years and it just kind
of trickled trick of the way at one
point you know things things just
weren’t working out so there I was
wondering what am I gonna do so I was
thinking I still had some songs I’m
always writing just because what I love
to do I was invited to do a show at the
fringe festival it was just me on stage
and people are passing by on their lunch
breaks to sit down and have a sandwich
so if they heard music that they like
they would come pop in and there it was
strumming away singing some songs and
this guy who ended up producing my
record Dave stirton his studio was right
across the street so he came by and
heard my set and guess he liked it and
he came to me after this set and just
started talking to me and asking me what
was going on and said he’d like the
music and I would like to hear more and
I said I’m not really sure if I you know
what I want to do right now with this
but he was encouraging me it is like you
should make a record so why don’t you
come by my studio and we’ll we’ll just
you know you can sit down all I’ll get
the tape rolling and you just start
singing so we did that a few times a few
months later I realized all right so
looks like we’re making a record here
and then year in three months later it
was done so I guess that’s where it
started in that park what about
enlisting all the right people to play
each part in the making of this record
tells just about the process because I
know that it was a solo album but I
don’t even described it as a very
cooperation ille activity also i went in
a couple times just to record some ideas
i had so that Dave could hear them and
we could start seeing did we have
something to work with you a few months
later he invited just these players that
he knew to come and have a just just a
time together to be creative and have
fun so he invited me over and he’s like
they’ve you know do what you want you
know present a song and have them do
their thing so so having everyone at my
disposable that I want and I was like
well if anyone could play piano and love
it to be that guy as opposed to just
being the people that are that are your
core
then as opposed to the last record I
made where we had our drummer and he did
everything it took us for drummers to do
this one you know because one one person
style was perfect for a couple of these
songs one person’s was just perfect for
those three songs and I was able to do
one we were able to try every different
song from all sorts of different angles
until we felt we got the the feel of the
song we got the the what we were trying
to create as opposed to just well you
got to make the best what you can with
what you got here we were able to
explore all sorts of options and that
was so much fun
