Interview With Robbie Tucker

Ravi Tucker loves making music and
thanks to that he’s raising awareness
about Parkinson’s disease i’m your host
laila for watch orange calm where we
join him to learn about musicians
against parkinson’s and his experience
as a musician living with this condition
sometimes I do it live on stage where I
just get somebody to shout out a name of
a song and I’ll make that song up on the
spot this happened in that manner it’s
called windy day
I’ve never known what exactly to call
the music that I make people call it
folk sometimes people hear stuff that’s
me and new stuff that’s not released and
go there who is this and I’m like it’s
me it’s something I’m working at now
today I guess it would be a good thing
if everything was always a departure
that would mean that everybody’s music
was always evolving swifting far away
nothing seems the same without you be
coming home with Parkinson’s disease
it’s still there it’s still here if I
wasn’t medicated I would not be the same
person that I am right now that being
said the medication that you take for
this disease is very dangerous and
that’s something that with with Matt
music I’ve been trying to get across to
people some of the side effects that
aren’t listed with the paper that the
pharmacist gives you is hypersexuality
excessive gam gambling kleptomania these
aren’t what i would call ordinary side
effects there has been cases where
people have gambled their life away and
their houses
sometimes try it just is really
something that you need to be super
careful about but also you need to be
informed you know venter neurologists
and doctors and pharmacists their job to
it is their job to tell you that these
things are really serious and you need
to take care of yourself being in one
spot where you can’t make music or do
the things that you love to do anymore
you just can’t do them oh and now you
have some pills and then you can do them
so this is but this is fake this is a
fake altered reality this doesn’t really
exist without these pills you’re this
person so basically I’m this still this
person I’m just medicated to be looking
and acting and feeling a little bit like
a normal person so while I’m here I have
to do as much as I can to help this guy
right here so it for me it can’t be
working in a call center and it can’t be
doing anything that I don’t want to do
with my life
I motivated because of that because I
love music and I don’t want to give up
ever on anything it and I think that a
lot of people with this disease get very
very depressed and it’s it’s tough
sometimes to deal with it
yes
any day
