you are now in tune incredible sounds
watchmojo.com yo shit man rozelle The
Godfather Wow big box King how did you
get started in the game how did you know
you had a talent for doing it started
out more you know as a necessity you
know because during the time and the
early days at 5 you had to have a little
bit of money to get the turntables let
the drum say it some of us we working
fortunate enough so we had just make do
with what we had and whether it was
banging on the table or beatboxing well
you know this improv so pretty much in
the beginning was out of necessity and
how do you challenge yourself to elevate
and become innovative I mean even as a
kid always been different so it’s kind
of easy for me I always been the on the
outside there’s a new term that’s going
around now like you’ve got your FOMO
fear of missing out like I’ve never been
one of those people like oh man I got to
be in the in-crowd because I want to
miss out on what’s going on so for me to
actually to keep reinventing this easy
because I really don’t have no meter I
want to go back a little because I
remember at one point beatboxing was
very popular I felt like it was bubbling
on the mainstream here and then this SOI
disappeared what happened right I mean
gangster rap had a lot to do with music
in general because I mean even at one
point in time every crew had a beatbox
but now you know you got a gangster
rapper and it’s become popular and they
daddy’s selling two million records
three million four million records now
it’s like okay gangster rat I need to do
gangsta rap because that’s what’s
popular
so out goes the traditional hip-hop out
goes the creative if I you know how goes
the the conscious hip-hop I mean if you
look at groups like PE poor righteous
teachers you know Black Watch Queen even
Queen Latifah a certain that was out it
went more underground for me because it
was there and this was a mainstream like
with Fat Boys and Dougie and biz that
suck it was more underground with if you
went to like the poetry meets and you
know these events would have open mics
and stuff like that you know yeah
beatbox let’s talk about beatboxing 101
what if someone needs to become a
beatbox what are the basics you know you
got the beatbox Championships and you
got battles and all of that and
everything is about technique but what
I’ve learned it’s about your personality
with any artist you want to actually
feel like you know that person so they
personality you have to shine above the
talent and then the talent comes in and
then you worry about the skill over time
you know listening to music and working
with different musicians and artists you
know you pick up things you know that’s
how I picked up you know doing the
leader you know if your mother only knew
now that becomes your signature to be a
good beatboxing you have to incorporate
all of those things you know I’m saying
and and develop your character because
that’s what it is
me Rahzel baby beatbox
