Darryl Mathis it’s pretty rare that you
know a writer is interested in both
sides of a film project so is only why
did you decide to get into video
production I think when I was just a kid
it always like inspired me to watch
snowboard videos always the mac dog
videos and the white yd films and and I
always just kind of just grabbed my
attention and that’s what I really got
into and so ever since I’ve just been in
love just making movies and stuff like
that and being in them
can you tell us a bit more about your
video grass project yeah video grass
this is our second year doing it Mikey
LeBlanc and Nima jalali us three are
producing the movie and so we just kind
of want to do more of a kind of raw kind
of core kind of skateboarding style
video yeah really excited about it and I
think people are going to be pretty
psyched on it for the shoot
could you talk to us a bit more about
the process of making a video you know I
mean it’s someone doing the trick like a
hundred times to get the perfect shot I
know that’s the thing when you watch a
video part you really never know how
long it takes and yeah certain tricks
can seriously take up to you know 20 to
30 tries sometimes you get lucky and you
can get it like second try just depends
on how hard the trick is or if you
haven’t really been able to do it yet so
it’s all out in the air comments and
stuff
I’ve read that you’re not a big fan of
contests can you tell me why I guess for
me growing up it was all about snowboard
videos it was more of an art form for me
to show my type of snow way through
videos contests just never really did it
for me you know like I’m not a very
competitive person I’m more just want to
hang out with my friends and have a good
time
what do you love most about snowboarding
definitely the traveling I absolutely
love the fact that I get to travel all
over the world this year we went to
Turkey which was amazing just like the
most random places ever
being able to read my friends that’s the
main thing I just want to go and have a
good time and see like amazing snowboard
and go down right in front of my eyes
and how long do you see yourself doing
snowboarding for I don’t know i just
turned 28 so i feel kind of old but i
feel i feel like my body can still hang
for a while so i think i got some more
years of me so definitely would love to
still be in the industry and do support
as much as i can thank you so much yeah
