a quartet dedicated to music that moves
brings us rock we can boogie too welcome
to watchmojo.com i’m your host Layla
today I’m pleased to meet the lead
singer and drummer a pride tiger Matt
would when did you discover that the
more punk heavy metal angry music wasn’t
really for you I kind of have always
been more of a rock and roll dude but we
came together in three inches of love I
wasn’t there in the beginning of the
band and when I met the guys when I
joined that band we immediately started
to jam you know rock and roll stuff I’ve
been looking for years for people to
play with you know to do something
similar to what we’re doing now so very
happy to finally found those people and
you weren’t expecting to be the lead
singer what’s that experience been like
it’s been so much fun we auditioned
singers couldn’t find anybody and I just
ended up donate because I had an idea of
what it should be not a lot of drummers
sing so everybody kind of freaks out
everybody’s kind of into it I think it
helps us out a lot is rehearsing more
like a fun jam session or is it more
like a job it’s definitely turning into
more of a job now you know we still just
get together though get a bunch of beer
and do that jamming thing too I think
that’s where a lot of the ideas come
from definitely now that we’re touring
more you gotta rehearse your set and
stuff like that so it’s a little bit
more like a child very fun job the
band’s been compared to a lot of other
music at Black Sabbath Lynyrd Skynyrd
how much does it matter how you’re
labeled I don’t mind the comparisons I
mean I’m the same way I want to hear a
band I’m like I’m reminded of that kind
of something to tell people about give
them an ID on how you Sam a little bit
I’m really stoked that people think we
saw it Lynyrd Skynyrd or whatever I love
Lynyrd Skynyrd nothinnnn lives if we get
a lot of Thin Lizzy comparisons we don’t
think there’s enough bands playing that
kind of music anymore at least getting
to do what we get to do maybe we can get
somebody to buy thin lizzy record nice
pick up a thin lizzy record everybody
what inspires you from more of the retro
music i’m totally one hundred percent
inspire
by that kind of stuff I grew up
listening to that kind of music my
parents you know played it in the house
these days rock and roll bands aren’t
rock and roll it’s all about wearing
nice clothes and like having a good
haircut forget all that stuff you know
you got me loud you got to get up and
sweat when you play that rock and roll
attitude I guess whatever that is now
kind of trying to bring it back thank
you very much thank you so much cool
