Interview with Musician Zane

hi welcome to watchmojo.com i’m your
host Layla and I’m pleased to be talking
to artists Zane about his musical career
and his debut album stages let’s hear a
little bit about your albums stages and
what sense would be emotional what have
what have been some of the emotions
behind that album well stages began as a
collection of stories on a personal
journey that that took about a little
over a year to do was basically songs
written during the course of that year
about the moments of my life as I
experienced them I wrote them the ecs
chapters a one’s man’s journey through
personal change I mean that’s what its
chapters so if you sit with headphones
on which is the best way to experience
the album that’s when you’ll understand
the lyrics and the way the songs are
intertwined and from beginning to end
and you’ll really understand where it’s
coming from you’ve previously been
praised as a great performer who knows
how to work up a crowd how did you carry
that energy over into studio although
the album is kind of dark a little
depressing it wasn’t like that in the
studio I met the producer Albert
chambers to the course of the two years
that we recorded this album it was
nothing but laughs and good times in the
studio and it’s funny and then when we
did the take to record we came all
serious we focus on the song how is your
musical approach changed since
well you write the songs in a way that
you never really think of genre I mean
you know people label music rock
alternative pop disco you never think of
that what you think of is writing the
song it’s important to have people that
understand where you’re coming from and
and interpret the music in the way
you’re coming from I mean if it’s a dark
song it’s not going to end up being a
disco track see after somebody that
understands that how does the music
industry make it hard or easy for you to
express yourself creatively as an artist
we always make compromises because music
is not a solo art it’s a collaborative
art right and I mean I have the album I
have the songs I have the dvds and the
music videos and yeah you’re on top of
things but in the end it’s a
collaborative art so you always have to
compromise in the producer you always
have to compromise with the director the
script writers I mean you always have to
make concessions why did you decide to
make a music video for lost lost is my
favorite truck off the album my absolute
favorite deep down in my heart I always
wanted to do lost so after we discussed
it again with the producer Johnny of the
fattest we decided to write the script
and do law since it was my favorite
track then the video had to be very
important we wanted to interpret the
song in a music video which was always
very important to me kind of something I
always wanted to do deep down inside
thank you very much it’s a pleasure to
meet you well thank you for your time
nice meeting you too
