Interview With Comedian Matt Bergman

although he may not have had the
physique to make it as a cop he sure has
a sense of humor to make us laugh hi I’m

chatting with comedian Matt Bergman’s
here’s the thing when your only child
people think that you’re spoiled rotten
that was never the case for me whenever
I screwed up that was like the worst
thing in the world because I didn’t have
like an older sibling that could rat out
for doing something way worse than I
ever did you start County at the age of
21 and have been touring ever since what
was it that got you into this career not
being able to do anything else pretty
much had a criminal justice degree in
like five foot seven so it’s not i’m not
going to arrest anybody I felt like has
something to do after college I started
when I was like 18 buzz comics never
talked about that there’s like two years
I don’t want people even know about this
on stage so basically what happened I
turned 15 is a family joke i decided to
create my invisible older brother Peter
I Peter my mind’s like that Jack hasn’t
family so my mom forgot about something
small with God come on Matthew I can’t
believe with the dishes in the
dishwasher I like well at least in my
selling drugs to children like Peter you
study criminal justice but didn’t want
to become a cop because of your size and
this is also stopped you from other
things like one-night stands can you
tell us about that I just don’t yeah I
just refuse because I’m afraid of the
next boyfriend might break in and I’m on
top of the girl you know I’m always
afraid I’m always paranoid like though
it probably never happen I’ve always
said I was just act like as a robot and
just until I got out of there just do
the robot and just hope that he thinks
he’s like ah the robot he doesn’t
understand that this is wrong you have a
sarcastic style of humor how do you come
up with your set a lot of thinking just
crazy things and hopefully translates
well down stage but yeah a lot of open
mics so when i’m home i’m usually on
stage couple nights a week just working
out it’s always constantly adding stuff
to the side and taking stuff out that
you don’t really like anymore I headed
back in my parents for two months so
that just ultimately backfire to my face
like I’d be sitting at the dinner table
she’d be staring across going well
Matthew Lee’s Peter does a backhoe his
parents again peter has a wife the
family doesn’t think Peters gay what’s
going on there champ
so my set will always be about 30
minutes long that’s basically I might
have an hour material but that’s all
gone I don’t want to think about ever
again but here’s the thing guys one day
so being a nursing home and Peter can
take care of her so a lot of comedians
have to deal with hecklers but you’ve
actually had to deal with a man charged
you on stage he tell us about that
incident I was like maybe 22 or 23 and
there’s a guy in a cell phone I just
kind of let him know I’m like you can’t
be on a cell phone I try to do a little
crowd work and I was like what’s your
name is like honey I’m like Weiner you
know dis assumed in my mind if he
started to walk toward the stage there’s
like an invisible fence from the stage
would just shocked him like he was a dog
and you just go back and he started
coming at me so I walked toward him I
couldn’t robot out at that point so he’s
walking toward me I wrapped it up
somehow and walked off stage I watching
the manager’s office backstage and I was
like I’m so sorry I don’t know what
happened and he’s like I he’s like that
guy just got out of prison two days ago
so I had to have a ride back to my condo
at the end of the night it’s pretty
terrifying it’s always it’s always a
weird time when he call your mom she’s
like how the show we’re like well I’m
still alive so I guess good well thank
you very much and good luck with
