comedian and comedy writer tim steves
you think maybe it’s time to legalize
and tax marijuana I’m just throwing out
ideas yeah the rim isn’t the only thing
we roll up in Canada how did you decide
to get into this career I was a smart
asked when I was a kid and my friends
there was there was a contest when I was
in college called so you think you’re
funny and some of my friends thought I
should try that so I did and just stayed
with it you find that being funny helps
you in other areas of life sometimes get
yourself out of trouble you know I’ve
always been able to rely on my mouth to
get me out of a jam sometimes maybe that
might be a thing besides drinking on
stage that’s the best part of this job
that’s the most unusual question of a
nest in a long time well I guess that’s
it I guess that’s a good thing if you’re
allowed to drink at work the number one
thing would be no heavy lifting and
you’re working about an hour and a half
a day if you’re working hard you know
like tonight I’m going to do two shows
45 minutes apiece give or take and so
you know most people work a lot harder
than that comedians often get that
they’re never gonna make it they should
give it up what’s the best advice that
you’ve gotten probably try to find your
own voice do your own thing look inside
yourself and see what what stories and
what stuff is from you you know because
when you first start out you’re going to
be influenced by other comedians a lot
looks like the same as a musician would
be you know you takes time bill cosby
says it takes 10 years and i agree
besides doing stand-up comedy also write
for popular TV shows one of them being
talking with Americans I’m governor Mike

things we did that a few years ago Rick
Mercer and I and some guys and yeah they
definitely are saying all that stuff
yeah I mean after the first time Rick
went down to Washington I think was
Washington was a very first time and he
came back and said we need stupider
questions yeah absolutely well thank you
