hi I’m Veronica watchmojo.com and today
the xfit team are dispelling any miss
people may have about pregnant women
exercising and explaining why it’s
actually really important to stay
physically fit throughout your pregnancy
once you’re pregnant should you stop
exercising for the safety of your baby
no that’s a myth you should keep working
on but you should inform your personal
trainer that you are pregnant so he can
alter a workout or for your pregnancy so
do you need to alter your workout at
every trimester somewhat yes second
trimester usually no crunches a lot lots
of core bracing through the whole
pregnancy in this third trimester there
is a hormone relaxing released so not
not as much stretching in this third
trimester while working out is there
anything that we need to be aware of yes
breathing you need to provide your baby
with oxygen so keep breathing and yeah
I’m just keep breathing hey right now do
you think you could show some exercises
that are safe and will dispel any myths
that people have about pregnant women
exercising sure definitely think we’ll
we’ll do some porridge or sizes it’s
very important to maintain good core
strength because it’s gonna pull
everything back around the stomach area
once the baby’s born okay thanks welcome
this is Kendra she’s five and a half
months pregnant and I’m gonna put her
through some exercises that will show
that pregnant ladies aren’t as limited
in their workout routines as you may
think Kendra is doing a plank hold with
a rotation and a side hold which targets
her core in all the dirt in all
directions so a lot of obliques they’re
also rectus and just bracing against her
own movement and it’s important to
maintain strengthen those muscles so
once you give birth everything can be
pulled back together into place open all
the way to the side excellent all right
so here we got Kendra doing a an
activation move for her adductors that’s
the inner thigh muscles and that will
lead to waking up her pelvic floor
muscles and waking up her core and I
her core muscles which is good to have
before you workout and also in labor so
here we got Kendra holding a side plank
bracing with her core a lot of obliques
there and also she’s doing a pulling
movement which works your upper body but
not only that she’s forced to stabilize
against her own movement and that gives
a extra work for her core burns extra
calories and she’s not limiting herself
to a one muscle group so art pregnant
women as fragile as we think they are
when it comes to exercising not at all
at least I haven’t found that for me um
in fact I’m crediting exercise with
having a great pregnancy so far hell has
exercising helped your pregnancy well in
the first trimester I was feeling pretty
rough and very tired and nauseous and I
found that whenever I worked out i would
feel significantly better and it helped
with my sleeping and to control the
nausea and I’ve experienced very few
mood swings so far so I credit all of
that to exercise thank you so much
you’re welcome
