breeding and training service dogs to
help those with visual impairments and
other disabilities hi I’m Rebecca
Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and

st. Pierre to learn more about this
foundation for those of us who don’t
know what is Mira’s mission Mira’s
mission is to give dog to blind person
also person in wheelchair and also
recently for autism what kind of
research was necessary when you were
trying to decide what visually impaired
people needed in a guide dog you need
somebody who likes a dog and after that
we trained dog just step by step it’s
like if we are building a house so you
start by the foundation what are some of
the the physical obstacles that the dogs
are trained to healthy the dogs are
trained to go around tanks around people
around fire audran around bench you have
to get around everything but before that
he have to learn to go straight forward
and cow the dog have to know you we have
to respect the one who commands and the
commander have to understand that is
doing the job so he have to be open
generous and thankful about what the dog
is doing our almere guide dogs
specifically bred we use bernese
mountain dog librado that’s the the base
of our breeding since 92 93 we just
cross breed the to do these breeds
specifically have anything about them
that makes them better for this job love
is a straight little guy happy strong
not afraid you can make a mistake it
will forgive easily a bernese mountain
dog is more clever he will adapt himself
to his new master how are the dogs
specifically trained I mean at what
point in their life does that the
training start the dog have to be very
well-balanced when that is done we train
them at least for sex mine every day
five days
we step by step how is a dog paired with
the recipient if the dog is a worker he
likes to walk what kind of fast is a
large so you will need somebody was in
shape and he’s moving a lot when that is
done you try to make the feeling up in
the dog have to love you and you have to
love when love is there general
everything works thank you very much
