Hot Stone Massages Profile

good afternoon this is andy aragon for
watchmojo calm at my mess of therapists
calm this afternoon we are talking about
hot stone therapy you’ve probably
wondered what exactly is hot stone
massage and you’ve probably seen it on
the menu at most of your local spas many
people have wondered where it comes from
some say it comes from Arizona others
say Hawaii others say California but the
truth is that we’re not exactly sure we
just know that this stone per se basalt
stone is a volcanic stone with
properties that are unique in that they
have a magnetic field that is ideal for
helping muscle relaxation these are not
rods that you’re going to find in your
garden or outside when you walk your dog
the hot stone treatment helps the
cardiovascular the lymphatic system and
the nervous system it’s kind of
interesting to note that these hot
stones are unique and that they do
retain their heat and in order to
achieve that what we do is we heat them
in a hot stone heater between 120 and
140 degrees Fahrenheit that is the
precise temperature at which the body
reacts well to the heat given off by
these stones for the most part I find
that they retain their heat for about
five to ten minutes depending on the
thickness of the stone and its
composition if you’ve ever had adhesions
or if you’ve ever had a lot of tightness
in your shoulders you probably go into
your massage therapist and he’s probably
had to do many percussions on your back
like this just to try and break down
those adhesions so as Jamie’s therapist
I may have to do this for 5-10 minutes
sometimes just to break through these
tight tight muscles rather than banging
on his back for such a long period of
time I can apply the storm and get deep
much much faster
