Guide to Acting – Common Misconceptions part 2

the third and last misconception that
I’m going to list is that a lot of
people think that acting is easy maybe
you know they watch movies they watch
television shows to see a play anything
okay I can do that come on I can I can
you know put myself in that situation do
exactly what they did on stage but that
it’s actually a lifelong process what
you see in film on TV and on stage is
only the tip of the iceberg everything
else underneath is a whole process so
for someone to say that they can go out
take an acting workshop I think it’s
great if you really just say go ahead
and do it but the thing that afterwards
you can go out and audition for pieces
is in a way with leading yourself I
would just training yourself further and
then going out and doing that because
that might harm you in the end if you’re
not ready even if you think you’re ready
if you’re not ready you go out there
auditions with directors they probably
will remember you because it is a small
community and that when actors say that
it’s they’re constantly constantly
growing it’s completely true you’re
always winning something about yourself
about a new technique and as actors your
multitaskers as well you’re thinking
about your voice projection the lighting
your position you’re thinking about like
ten things
same time so it’s really important to
just really appreciate what actors
actually do
