spring cleaning for a reason why would
you say the spring season is the best
time to tackle this project often after
a long winter we’re shaking off the
cobwebs and cobwebs have also collected
in our house so you know if you can get
tackling spring cleaning early it’s not
only going to clean the space that you
live in but it’s also going to prepare
your mind for a healthy and active
spring without having to live in a
cluttered space what are some tips to
keeping your spring cleaning
environmentally friendly I look at
garbage on the side of the road and I
would hazard a guess that eighty percent
of what I see out there actually is
recyclable either reusable recyclable or
donate able appliances are really bad
computer screens are really bad they’re
toxic now spring cleaning can often free
up a great deal of space what can people
do with this newfound space just imagine
family coming and not having to put them
up in the living room on a cot actually
having a room a spare room that you can
renovate in your basement once you clean
out all those old boxes and bicycles
also just expanding the space that
you’re living in if you look around
you’ll find things that you don’t use or
need any more in the space that you’re
living in once you get those out you’d
be amazed how rooms can expand double in
size would you mind showing us a few of
your spring cleaning tips I’d love to so
the first thing you want to do is create
a staging area in your house either in
your garage or some out where else in
your house where you have space to be
able to organize all your items for
recycling all your items for donation
and of course for any garbage spring
cleaning is overwhelming often it takes
us two or three days to do so take each
room and finish it in its entirety pleat
it from top to bottom you’ll feel great
and it’ll provide more motivation for
you to continue your spring cleaning so
when you do your spring cleaning you’re
going to want to work from top down
inside out this prevents you from
dragging any dirt that you’ve just
cleaned up into a previously cleaned
area so another trick is to
have two different color garbage bags
one for recycling and one for garbage it
allows you to sort easily and if you
have any helpers it makes things very
clear so all of your hazardous materials
shouldn’t go out your garbage these are
things like paint chemicals every
municipality has usually two pickups a
year to pick up all your hazardous waste
if the pickup doesn’t follow during your
spring cleaning feel free to load up
your car and take it down to the Public
Works section of the city take the
opportunity to take any non donate able
shirts and make a rag pile for the year
it will help save on paper towels which
is also good for the environment we’ve
all got boxes in our basement if you
haven’t looked at it in a year do you
really need it think about what you’d do
with all that space now that you’ve
finished your spring cleaning you
probably noticed a lot of paper take the
opportunity in your life become
paperless apply to online banking and
any online billing it’ll make for a
shorter spring cleanup next year a wise
man once told me we’re often defined by
the things we can’t get rid of so see
spring cleaning is not only a cleaning
of your home but also a cleaning of your
